A good way to help your dog, if bit or stung, is by giving him/her a table spoon of clear, children's Benadryll {Diphenhydramine HCI / Antihistamine} and a baby asprin. Be sure to tell the vet you have done this, when you get there. This in no way takes the place of the Vet's visit but if you can't get to the vet until the next day, this will help. Vet approved.

Thanks Jan! Sometimes anymore, it's hard to tell what "normal" is! LOL!

Thanks Miss Jan. Oscar for 3 years was the best snake dog I ever owned. He would walk ahead of me and smell them out, then bay {Bark} them, to let me know they were there. Starting this summer, he has started trying to kill them. I don't know what went wrong, I train him just fine.

  • Jan Carter

Maybe he is just becoming over protective of our favorite old cajun?

    Craig Henry

Maybe he's just fed up with just barking at them? LOL!

  • Jan Carter

This was sent to me by a dear friend and I just HAD to share it

I have raised Beagles all my life. Mine hunt rabbits but they are just as cute. The Beagle is a great breed. Hey, we had Fiest puppies today. I'll post pictures later.

  • Jan Carter

    YAY Puppies!

We had puppies today. Pure Ozark Mountain, registered Feist squirrel dogs. The girls are really excited. Hello, Christmas money...Ha..Ha.  Puppies are so much fun.

  • Jan Carter

    awww, they are awesome!

They want to keep one, so you know I can't say no. Puppies are a lot of fun and take on walks in the woods and watch them explore the world.

If you want to know more about them, look on your computer for Galla Creek Squirrel dogs. They said they will sell the ones, I don't want. That's easy enough.

  • Jan Carter

WOW, a whole lot of puppies goin on!!

Robert those are sweet looking babies.  Get the girls to take another pic?

Hog, just raid Mrs. Camera, she will have more

  • Ron Cooper

I think I only have one left to sell but until I have the money in my hand.....well you know.

  • Ms Data

Yes Jan, she is the dog who rescued us.  She is very sweet until she jumps up and steals my sandwhich off my plate.  Grrrrrr!!!!  It's touching having a rescue dog with PTSD.  She jumps up and cuddles next to me when there is a loud noise like thunder.  We really love her.

Too cute, everyone needs a puppy.

  • Jan Carter

    They are adorable!

  • Ms Data

Sioux again!  Such a pretty girl!!!

  • Ron Cooper

Data, Sioux is a verrry pretty girl, indeed! I like her food bowl and how it is elevated. That is a great idea, whoever thought of it deserves a big pat on the back! And I'll bet that Sioux appreciates not having to eat her dinner from a bowl on the floor, too.

I miss having a dog! When I was married and owned my home I always had dogs. Oftentimes many! At one time I had 13 dogs, all at once, most of which I had rescued from the side of the road or running loose at the racetrack where I worked. My wife used to beg me to please not bring anymore home! Nowadays I live in an apartment and cannot own a dog. I miss that unconditional love that our pets unselfishly give us. That's why I enjoy poking my head in here to catch a little vicarious love from dogs like Ken's Buddy and Data's Sioux.

  • Steve Scheuerman (Manx)

Sooo...dogs plus bag of flour equals dumb idea! I came home to these two innocents last month, hiding on the bed with a white livingroom.

They sure look innocent, don't they? Here's what they *should* look like...

  • Jan Carter

ROFL!!!  I have had that happen with feather pillows

  • Jan Carter

What great little rolly polly's!!!  The big guy is gonna get you for wakin him up LOL

  • Jack Haskins, Jr.

I got this picture from the lady we buy flea drops from.  Not my dog or kitten.  The kitten is politely waiting for his turn. :)

  • Jack Haskins, Jr.

Steve, wife has a Great Pyranese.  We've had him about a year.  He was about 10 months old when we got him.  He was too big for the previous owner.  Don't know why.  He stays outside all day (unless raining) and inside all night.  Grandson loves him too.

Sophie says; "Sometimes the best stuff is in the garbage bag!"

  • Jan Carter

Jack the pics are great!  Sue, Sophie just wanted one more Christmas smell please.

    Dale....That kid gets an A+++++

  • Jack Haskins, Jr.

Craig, kids are similar.  How often do they want to play with or in the box the toy came in that cost a million dollars. :)

Jan, Jackson (grandson) won't give the dogs a bite when he is still hungry.  But when he is full he has already learned how to get rid of what he doesn't want. I don't care.  I let him eat what he wants.  Kids don't starve when there is food. Parents just think they will.  :)

So right Jack! Sophie got some REAL nice doggie toys, but she wanted to play with the torn-up Christmas wrappings! LOL!

  • Ken Spielvogel

Congrats Steve on the new arrivals.

  • Jack Haskins, Jr.

We all need cigars Steve. lol  Great Pyranees are good dogs I think.  We've had a male for about a year, maybe two.  Comes in the house and our 4 yr old grandson loves him but Sawyer (dog) is just too big for Jackson (grandson) to play with.  Heck, he's too big for ME to play with. :)  Let us see some pics when you can.

    Jack

  • Ken Spielvogel

That's wonderful Steve, I hope you will keep regular updates on here for us.

  • Ken Spielvogel
