hey hey! SMKW!! dont forget ,on your way in ,,to your RIGHT of the RIGHT main door entrance....just look to your right their when you open the doorstep back and if you look to the right and look down at the ground -if you like-say a little prayer for my SISTER..... ..my sister loved knives ..{YES I LOVED HAVING A SISTER WHO LOVED COLLECTING KNIVES}.. sadly in 2008 she passed  at a very young- 27.my sister, although about 11 months younger then me..was my HERO!..at the time it was bad for everyone $$ in my immediate family but my brother- of all places- had a cabin from a friend for 1 week up in the ROCKS!!..IT WAS A BLESSING!!.... it gave us all as a family a place to come together for my sister

it was where we ended up having everything with us scattering her ashes into the Rockies... BUT I SAVED A SMALL AMOUNT. that small amount i placed in a little box and that little box is buried right their at the entrance of SMKW... SO IF YOU LOOK TO YOUR RIGHT. SAY HI! ...  ALTHOUGH IM SURE SHE IS IN the NKM...or choosing her next CASE!!...LOL... regardless she is having a blast whatever she is doing im sure of it!.  HEY JAN THANX FOR THE PICS!!! THEY MEAN A LOT!-if you are reading this trust me they bring back a lot..... and man when i went their... IT WAS ONLY ME..i couldn't find another soul!..NOW LOOK!!!..AWESOME!!!

    Thanks guys!

Lee, that's a super nice Stockman!

  • Tobias Gibson

I'm looking at picking up a seahorse whittler.  Can someone out there tell me if they have a split backspring?  Also does anyone have the dimensions handy (closed length, blade lengths, etc)?

  • Max McGruder

Seahorse Whittler does not have a split backspring, it has two backsprings. The main bld. rides on both backsprings , while the two smaller blades at the opposite end ride on one spring each. The knife closed is 4" . Knife with the Main blade open 6 1/4 "
    Pen bld. 1 1/2", coping bld 1 9/16"
  • Tobias Gibson

Thanks Max.  Still not 100% if I'm going to buy it.  I don't actively collect whittlers but I'm interested in the Seahorse simply because it seems to be one of those iconic Case patterns.

  • Lee Smith

I carried a seahorse for about a year. That's a long time for me. The warncliff blade is thick. Held a great edge.

Little quiz who knows what a usm3 is?

  • Featured

    Charles Sample

    It is a trench knife.

  • Lee Smith

Charles I should have figured that you would have known. Picked one up at the flea market over the weekend then found a sheath for it on ebay. I'll post pic's when I can get them together.

  • Tobias Gibson

I think it should show read   U. S. M3  CASE 1943 on the blade.   Some were also stamped on the  guard.

  • Tobias Gibson

My Seahorse Whittler arrived.  It has convinced me to start a new iKC album for my Case knives.
