Good job.  The Brits kept good records.  My lady dagger was made by John Newton around 1890 in Sheffield England then shipped to the Yukon to be sold to those who needed it.

We leave the blade shop in the summer to go commercial fishing. After a few months of playing 'Deadliest Catch' we're ready to get back to our nice warm shop and get out of the saltwater for awhile. It requires a boat or a plane to reach our cabin, so visitors are few but distractions are many... There are no roads to where we live, so fuel has to be bought in town, hauled 8 hrs. in the boat and then tussled up the 2 mile trail to the shop in barrels. There is fly-fishing to be done and deer hunting that must not be neglected. There's no community water within reach so we catch ours from the sky or haul it from our crick.  Since we live off-grid we provide our own power with both gas and diesel generators. At this point we do laundry by hand in an old fashioned wringer washer and have no indoor bathroom or refrigerator...Life Is Good!

I sent them a message via their website complementing their site, craft and the wedding pictures.  I told them they were very blessed.  If I ever get up that way I will stop in too see them when their not out doing the deadly catch thing.

I have not received a reply but if they don't have an indoor toilet I doubt they have Internet.  My guess is there is an Internet Cafe in town.  

I contacted Fred at Case knives and put the question to him.  No call back yet.

Fred at Case said this April they will release around 28 models of the "modern knives".  I thought it was funny for him to say the Tactical knives were modern.  I never considered Case to produce old knives.  Sure the knife patterns are vintage but eternally young.  I will see if I can get some pics to put in this discussion.

I found this pic of antique Case axe/knife combo....the eternally young at over 60. years looks real nice....giggles....Rare Vintage Case Tested XX "Knife-Ax". Wood handles. Nickel silver bolsters, handle pins and pommel. Upswept skinner blade with grooves cut in thumb notch on spine. This Knife-Axe combo was first patented in 1935 and the tang stamp on it was only used until 1940. The blade was replaced in the 60's. Very unique knife blade can be removed and hatchet fits in it's place. Very well built

Here is the link to check out the new Tactical Case knives: tecx.com  The line of Case tactical folders is "Tecx".  I was talking to Fred of Case Knives this morning.  He explained to me Case would have to build a new factory to build the quantity of Tecx knives they expect to sell.  To jump into a new market, for them, and build an entire factory hoping this line will be able to stand on its own is a risk they don't want to take.  I don't fault them on this.  Fred said there were no USA companies who make knives for other companies who can keep up with the numbers Case would want.  So like so many others, Case farmed this line out to a Chinese company.  Buck is another company who has gone to China.  I heard Buck Knives were trying to come back to the USA with part of their line. 

I told Fred the risk of sending this line to China is they will make knock offs as they do of Buck, CRKT and others.  He agreed with my assessment.  Anyway, Fred is mailing me about half dozen of these Tactical knives and one traditional Case knife which is a single blade lock back, bone handle with a pocket clip for an article.  The single blade traditional is a #30024 (6154LC CV) Amber Bone CV Trapper Lock Clip.  This Trapper fits the bill as a knife LEO can carry.  When I get these knives in I will attach some pics and what I think.  I will then send them off to a Chief of Police who is a camera bug to take some pics and hand them out to our American Heroes here at home (police and fire).

The Tecx line will sell from about $20 to $45 which is much like the S&W line.

Thanks for the info on the Tecx.  Do you know if the decision has been made to force the existing Case Dealers to carry them?  I know it raised quite the chatter on the Case Forum when the announcement was made.  It is still the reason some of the old Case collectors are saying they will no longer buy from them.  Competition and breaking into a new line of knives is a logical reason to produce these in an offshore plant.  In my opinion they risk losing more of the traditional buyers if they place them in the independent  Case dealers that are asking not to carry them.

At that price point I know we will see them in Sears and Lowes (they carry Case anyway).  Will we see them in the mass market, like Walmart?

This is why I commented about look over your shoulder Case here comes GEC.  Having knives made in China will seem like a traitorous move to some of the hardcore Case collectors.  These collectors will naturally gravitate to a cutlery like GEC.  Can't wait to get my first GEC.  I hope it is in the mail.

Concerning my daughter, I shouldn't really complain. She might wake up now and then, but normally she falls asleep again rather quickly. My son on the other hand hardly ever sleept at that age. I walked around in a haze for two years, I was totally exhausted. Luckily, they grow out of it!

LOL, yes and then they become teenagers and never want to go to bed.

I resemble that remark Jan.  When I was young, I never wanted to go to bed till I just passed out watching TV.  Now that I am older, I want to go to bed but pass out watching TV before I get the chance.

Our son are 10 years old and our daughter is 15 months.

Yeah, I know. People often take for granted that they have different fathers just because of the gap. My husband isn't too happy about that. When I was younger I wanted 4 kids and I wanted them to be close in age. Well, things dosen't always turn out as planned. But I still could have two more, I guess.

Funny, they always think different fathers but never ask about different mothers. LOL.  Be sure you leave enough time at the end to be husband and wife alone again.  We love it, even though we miss the kids
