A.G. Russell Knives is the oldest mail order knife company in the world. We sell only the finest cutlery from William Henry, Randall, Böker, Columbia River Knife & Tool, Kershaw, SOG, Benchmade, Spyerdco, Canal Street Cutlery, and more.
Jan now I have every model Texas Ranger produced since 2008.
I know there's a couple from before then though. He didn't do a yearly version so I'll have to look a little harder for those. But I'll see if I can start amassing some of those too.
Mid-month is always re-pricing time for cuttingedge.com. We have re-priced about 175 knives that were listed in August 2013 and before. That means prices have been lowered about 10%.
This week’s e-mail will be appreciated by those of you who, as indicated by our survey several weeks back, are looking for BEST prices on the knives you buy. We have about 45 knives in this mailing with heavily discounted prices; all but two are from CRKT. We have very small quantities on hand so order quickly. In come cases we may be able to get more and some cases we may not.
The knives we have included in this week’s special are all handmade. Makers include Randall, Dozier, Kressler, Morseth, Keith Murr, A. G. Russell Shopmade and Russ Kommer for Browning. We have just a small quantity of each of these on the shelf and ready to ship. Some will not be repeated. Others will take three to four months to deliver once our current stock is gone.
You might also be interested to know that a friend of mine is disposing of his wonderful and large collection of Elephant Toenail folders. If these are of interest to you, you might take a look at his website for information about the knives at http://www.elephanttoenails.com/.
We will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the founding of A. G. Russell Knives in 2014. Each month during the year we plan to offer a different knife marked with our 50th Anniversary logo to commemorate this milestone. Knives will range from limited editions of 50 handmade knives to 500 of some production knives, and others with quantities in between. Be sure to follow announcements on facebook and in our weekly e-mails. Please share this information with your friends who have an interest in knives.
We have only a few of each of the knives in this week's mailing in stock. Most of them are knives that will not be made again. However, there are two that I particularly want to draw to your attention. They are the two in the photograph to the right of this note. The top knife is a Morseth® Hunters Bowie. The handle material is Mesquite. The bottom knife is the A. G. Russell™ Shopmade® Caper with Giraffe Bone handle scales. We have made only 12 of each. Because of the availability of the handle material, it will be quite a while before we might be able to make more of these knives.

So I suspect he's got something in the pipeline. When I was over a year and a half ago they were working on some models that I haven't seen come out yet. So I'm sure they'll be coming along at sometime.
A quick pic of one of my favourite knives. My A.G. Russell One Hand knife with titanium handle and bone scales.
I've been carrying that little knife for over a year now (not every day but at least once a week) and I'm still in love with it. The lock/closing system is simply one of the coolest ones on the market. It closes FAST, and smoothly. It looks great. Is comfortable in use and looks great.
If you've never used a knife with the A.G. Russell frontlock you owe it to yourself to at least give it a try.
It's a very handy little blade. It's just long enough to do almost everything. Thick enough to feel solid enough while doing it. (1/8" thick steel or close to it)
The bone scales will acquire some nice character over the years. The titanium liners and backspacer make it lightweight and the deep carry pocketclip make for very unobtrusive carry. Honestly, there isn't a thing I don't like about it.....ok, maybe the thumbstud is a little sharp. But a little sandpaper will fix that in seconds.
The VG-10 steel is also a treat. Very good edge retention, fairly easy sharpening and will take a KILLER edge.
As a sidenote....the clippoint version of that was SO lowpriced because of customer Appreciation that I couldn't resist it and a cocobolo Clippoint is coming my way.
Bytheway....I'm looking for some Hen and Rooster Russell knives...preferably the coffin handled ones. If anyone ever wants to trade me one of those (I don't have a lot of spare $$$ to spend) I'd be happy to send one of the knives I made their way or depending on the knife make them something to order.
I'd almost (almost) sell my soul for the one that's on auction right now on E-bay (not a coffin one but it's gorgeous.)
I have two of those, my best one has engraved bolsters and scrimshawed and signed. The scene is that of Whitetail deer. I am sorry Alex, they are my favorites too.
Be on the lookout in the next month for our first special edition knife to commemorate our 50th Anniversary, a special Dog Leg Trapper. We are also working on an Anniversary Sting with Stag.
Just scored a nice Camillus made 2001 Texas Ranger. My info has it pegged as 154CM steel and red jigged bone. It's really nice. Very different from the other A.G. Russell Texas Rangers that I have. Pictures to follow sometime.

Those Morseths are amazing Steve. Only thing that surpasses the looks on those is the quality. The fit and finish on those is just off the charts.

Someone on E-bay that doesn't seem to know what the word "Mint" means.....Look at the point of the blade and tell me that's not worn.
Also the only one I've ever seen with filework. I'm suspecting it didn't come out of the factory like that:
