Come one come all to the NKCA show in Dalton Ga. Might be very insteresting. Board meeting at the close of the show on Friday . Chis maybe we could put in for a show out west what do you think.
OK here we go! Just received the estimate for our custom order GEC #36 UN-X-LD all steel sunfish with polished black buffalo horn handles, UN-X-LD stamped main blade, steel pins, a plain "cloud" shield, non serialized, and with a C.O.A.! Unfortunately there is no price break for 50/100/or 150 knives and there is a $500 surcharge for set up on any special order under 100 knives.
If we order 50 knives total our price per unit will be $114.73 plus FedEx shipping added at time of shipment. If we have enough people who sign up and we make it to 100 knives the set up fee surcharge will be dropped and our price per unit will drop to $104.73 plus FedEx shipping added at time of shipment.
They require a 50% deposit with balance due at time of shipment, BUT I believe that it would be much simpler, both for them and for us, to pay GEC in full in advance at the time of ordering. I'll work this out with GEC and keep everyone posted. I'll also get a firm price on the shipping so that we have no surprises later and so that we can pay them the full amount in advance.
Do not send in any money to GEC for your order yet. First we must reach the minimum order of 50 pieces and we are at 21 only so far. Perhaps we may even be able to reach the 100 piece mark, now that we have a firm price quote in hand.
If you contacted me before, and 18 of you did, please reconfirm your order with me so that I can keep track of everyone, and also please confirm the amount of pieces you will be interested in ordering.
OK folks, let's get it done! I personally can't wait! Tell your friends!
Just reposting this to keep it on the front page here:

You guys ought to consider sending a email with the details with a pic and instructions to the GEC Group in addition to posting on the wall here. Just please be considerate when messaging the entire group....you know how it is when you get spammed.
For our custom GEC #36 buffalo horn Sunfish I just heard that shipping will cost each customer $10.00 by FedEx added to the price of the knife ordered. So when we make it to 50 orders the final price per unit delivered will be $124.73 and IF we make it to 100 orders then the final price per unit delivered will drop down to $114.73. I'm pretty sure that the delivery charge would be the same whether you are ordering one or two knives, but I will definitely check. International shipments will cost more depending on the country of destination so please let me know. In order to make our ordering process go smoothly for GEC I am requesting that everyone who has confirmed an order kindly send me (privately here) all of your contact info, name, address, and telephone number. Remember that FedEx WILL NOT deliver to P.O. Boxes and that your telephone number is necessary to put on the FedEx form, don't worry I'm not gonna call you! So please do send me your info so that I can consolidate it all for GEC and not give Chris Tucker there more work to do. Thanks!
Confirmed that the $10.00 FedEx shipping is good for up to 6 knives that will fit in a box without getting too heavy! Man, I'd love to order six of these knives, one for each pocket and one for each hand!
Also confirmed that at time of ordering (as soon as we reach 50 or more orders) GEC will accept payment by credit card, money order, cashiers check, and even personal check, either mailed, emailed, or even phoned in personally, now that's personal service!
A special warm and heartfelt thanks out to Chris Tucker at GEC who has kindly taken us under her wing and is personally responsible for making this project possible now in the end run!
OK, now I have posted our custom #36 GEC Buffalo Sunfish ordering info everywhere I possibly could. Its here on iKC, its on the GEC blog, its on the TSA GEC blog, on AAPK, and on BladeForums. If that doesn't get us to the minimum of fifty orders required to make our custom GEC Northfield #36 Steel Black Buffalo Horn Sunfish, I'm afraid nothing will. Now I just have to sit back and wait a while. Hard to do as I'm an impatient man!
You are doing fine work on this project. I want to thank everyone that has helped by making sure it is on more sites. This is good for IKC, GEC and all of us.
The nice people at bladeforums closed down our posting there, saying that I had to pay for the privilege of selling knives there. I am not a dealer, I am a collector and user, and I am not selling knives, that's what GEC's business is. Our site here is free, and here we freely exchange ideas, suggestions, tips, knowledge, and honestly help each other out in the free spirit of friendship. iKC is the better place to be!
Thanks for having me folks, I've only become aware of Great Eastern Cutlery in the last year or so. I have several now and they really are a wonderful knife. Great look and substantial feel to them. I like the sunfish pattern. Is there any difference between the three brands ,Tidiote, Unxceled and Great Eastern brands ?
All 3 are produced by Great Eastern Cutlery. 440C stainless blades will be on Great Eastern knives, Northfield UN-X-LD and Tidioute will have 1095 Carbon Steel.
We're up to 28 orders so far out of 50 needed. C'mon folks shake the trees! Tell your friends! Give one as a gift! Donate one to a charity of your choice! Buy one as an edc and one to put away, like me!
I am excited that today we hit over 100 members. Thank you all for spreading the word, talking us up and basically just for being here with us to share a hobby we all love
I have copied this latest posting form Greg's TSA Blog because I think it's an important project, the Wounded Warrior Project started by our very own Jan Carter, and I hope you will all support it. Thanks to Greg and Jan and all of those involved in the WWP.
Special GEC 36 Sunfish Run Announcement!
I'm really happy to let everyone know that I've gotten the okay from Luca and GEC to have the first one of the special run 36 Sunfish Buffalo Horn knives be designated as a Prototype. I'll be donating the knife as an auction item with 100% of the proceeds going to the Wounded Warrior Project.
My hope is this will encourage more of you to pre-book one of these fantastic knives to help Luca get to the minimum required for the run and to provide another opportunity to raise some money for our wounded vets. Even if you're not interested in bidding on the prototype, by booking one of the regular run knives, you're going to help make it possible for the auction to occur and end up with a choice collectible to boot. Everybody wins!!
If you would like to bid on that prototype knife please follow Jan Carter's postings on the Wounded Warrior Project Auction above or on Greg Holmes TSA blog (http://blog.tsaknives.com).
We're now up to 30 orders! We're getting closer, but we're not there yet! It's up to all of us to make this happen, please see what you can do to help us get there. Tell your friends, the ones who aren't on iKC, yet!
Howdy GEC Fans! I'd like to invite everyone to come see us at the Erie Gun Show this weekend. It's located at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie,PA and runs Saturday from 9 to 5,and Sunday from 9 to 4. I will be there with a large selection Great Eastern Cutlery, including the very latest releases,Stag,Primitive Bone,ETC.
I will also be accompanied at the show by Christine Tucker,Factory Rep. from Titusville. Many of you have talked to her via phone or e-mail,come and meet her in person. We're looking forward to meeting you.
For those that have contacted Luca about the IKC/GEC knive. THANK YOU, this project has grown from just giving us a knife our own to an opportunity to help a great cause. When we hit 50 orders we can start the process of getting it into production. What more can we ask than a knife that celebratres what we love and who we are as a group. Well I will tell you what else!! We can help support a great cause by the first knife coming out of the factory as a prototype. One that goes into the Wounded Warrior auction. Lets make it happen folks. Even if you are not a toenail fan, we are here because we are GEC fans right?
A new member has joined in our endeavor and ordered four knives for himself and friends! So with that order we are now up to 34 orders total with only 16 left to go till we all reach the finish line!
You've only got a couple days left if you were going to bid on current Wounded Warrior Project Auction. The current bid is $125 for a super short run 735111EC in Smooth Red Bone. For more information and to place a bid, go to: TSA KNIVES Wounded Warrior Project Auction. The cutoff for bidding is midnite CST, Saturday, March 19, 2011.
