This is a SFO from a very knife savvy gent. It's his love for barlow that is helping to get this going and I can't wait to see it finished.

  • Jan Carter

Spill Johnny, tell us who it is from so we can direct traffic in that direction LOL

  • johnny twoshoes

His Name is Charlie (I think) Champaign.

He is the one who got the #66 Harness Jacks ordered earlier this year. He is a big contributor over at Bladeforums and he is no stranger to SFO. Great guy and very knowledgable.

  • Jan Carter

OH, ok.  Charlie is awesome.  Lets find out where he will be offering these.  I know there will be some folks that want one.  THANKS JOHNNY

OH! That's the Primitive Bone! Dummy me! At first glance it looked like the Frontier Bone. I should have known You would have gotten the Primitive Bone! LOL!

  • Stanley May

Beautiful knife Jan!  I wish my mailman would bring me one.

I wonder if that is based on the White Owl frame? I would say that would make it a Junior Cattle Knife....according to Levine.

  • Paul Slusser

  • Paul Slusser

Was real happy to get my hands on one of these!  Very nice. The blade opens very smoothly with a half stop, beautiful color, fit and finish and feels real nice in the hand. One of my favorites for sure.

    Craig Henry

    Nice looking single blade Barlow!

  • Ron Cooper

That's a real nice looking Barlow, fersure! From the picture it almost looks long enough to be a Daddy Barlow. Paul, what's the closed length on that beauty?

  • Paul Slusser

The closed length is 3.45 inches.  The weight of this single blade is about 2.125 oz.

  • Jan Carter

That is indeed a beauty.  Such a classic build for a classic pattern

Okay, enough about Barlows....we need a GEC Peanut.

  • Bob Andrews

Enough with the Peanut! How about a Canoe?

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

That's one good looking Canoe. There must be a little Indian girl somewhere that needs one for Chirstmas.lol

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

    LOL! Looks good Bob!

Sorry...I have nuts on the brain.

  • Jan Carter

    It does look good!

Craig is still nuts about nuts though :)

A Canoe pattern reminds me of a Moose patern. I carried a Canoe pattern a while, to help make a bunch of scared Mom's feel better. They thought all the young boys would want a knife with a less pointed blade. It made the Moms happy and I found out a Canoe is a very usefull pattern. It seems everyone has a favorite Pattern.

  • Billy Oneale

    Nice Canoe
  • Jan Carter

Had a chance to talk with Bill today and he says the canoe and the boys knives are being received VERY well!

Most under rated handle material right now?  Coffeehouse, looks almost like an old celluloid but does not photo very well

  • Alan

Jan I agree it is a nice material.....  IMG_0975.JPG

    Craig Henry

I like that Coffeehouse too. If it looks better in person, so much the better!

  • Jan Carter

I give!  Any ideas on what the CKW means?

  • Jim McLeod

Jan....Cumberland Knife Works ...one of the first Great Eastern distributors...had the the rams horn and ebony Sfo's made for them

  • Jan Carter

goodness I had totally forgotten that.  We used to buy a lot of knives from him

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

I use to buy knives from him, also. He told me once he was a preacher, here in Louisiana, I think that's how the story goes. Well anyway, he's a real nice guy. Just like all of the GEC distributors.

  • Jan Carter

We bought from him but not GEC.  He used to sell Case alot

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

I think I mostly, bought Queen knives from him. He's a nice old guy.
