Seems like someone was advertising a great eastern  knife that had scales that glow in the dark. I cant remember who or what it was called. I know I need one though.

Nifebrite Is what it was. I figured it out. I think one would be really cool in my display case.

Have ya'll seen the new GEC knife, they call it an Outlaw but I think it looks like a Moose. The number is 76, I wonder how many different handle materials will be used in it's production.

There are ten Outlaws, Robert. Here they are: primitive bone, yellow rose, natural stag, black buffalo horn, bocote, copperhead jigged bone, rootbeer acrylic, honey brown bone, cocobolo, burnt stag. This, of course, does not include the newly released Western Outlaw. Hope this helps . . .

I believe Mr Burris is refering to the Western Outlaw. Released so far are the Tidioute in Western Sunset Acrylic and Antique Ivory Jigged Bone.

Still to come is Tidioute in Ebony and Northfield in Jigged Bone,Royal King Wood,Burnt Stag and Natural Stag.

Wow, thanks guys! Bob is correct, about the knife I was asking about. I love the Moose pattern, and I hope that the interest in this pattern, gets you guys more sales, in a wonderful pattern. I am sure with all these different options, a buyer should not have much trouble finding, a great knife.

Hot, digity , darn... That's one fine knife! They call it an Outlaw but it looks like a Moose pattern to me. I'll bet, everyone has been a little naughty, in their life, so an Outlaw Moose might fit alot of us. This pattern is HOT right now, so ya'll better move in quick.,,LOL

It has a Moose blade configuration on a #76 Gunstock frame. The Guitar Inlay Shield was used a couple of years ago on the "Tango" series of knives. This Western Sunset Acrylic is GREAT! I'll have to re-stock on these already!

yeah ever since GEC realsed the "BOYS KNIFE" i have gone back to hunting down the vintage "boys knives" ...still need my WALDEN with the 19 inch chain!

oh and LEE ..both of those GEC knives would make great EDC...the one thing i dont get and i have seen it on a few brands is with such a hard working knife as a SOD knife is.... i always wondered why other brands like CASE or GEC have not follwed though on a lockback version.. i have seen EYE BARAND with lockbacks or their sods.i even wrote CASE directly about it. they did replky but its not even on the table as of now... they actually wrote me back in a way that it was something NEW...i dunno... im guessing the boys knife has a half stop{i dont know but most do out of safety-why no locking dvice on the sods?..if the GEC SOD has a half stop i didnt know..forgive me....

Well I tell you this. I wish I had had a boys knife like this when I was a kid. I took it to work today and showed it off. I really had to grin when the guys started cupping there hands around it to see if it really glowed in the dark. They came up grinning every time. It made them feel like a kid again too.

It has a very stout half stop. I don't hunt much and have never really had any preference one way or another. A lot of people do though.

I've heard lot's of talk about GEC's stout backsprings. A very stout backspring,together with a positive half-stop, almost eliminate the need for a locking blade. If a person would use the knife hard enough to overpower the backspring, than the half-stop would catch before the blade closes on your hand.

ok so my knife says its a gec TIW 151113 huckleberry boys knife nifebright acrylic. I cant find it on the list. How do I find out how many where made?

Are you familiar with GEC's numbering system..if not will lend a hand...if you notice the last two numbers refer to the year made......and GEC just release the 2012 Totals you'll need to wait another year.

No I'm not. I've been carrying this knife for 2 days. Now i'm not sure if I should carry it. Looks like the production numbers are pretty low.

We have seen an engraved whaler, an abalone 66, and some first run acrylic 25's .  I spoke with Bill Howard this afternoon and he tells me a pattern has been chosen but...............what do we think it will be?

Well, last year we had the Lockback, so I don't think it will be an outdoorsman style knife. I'll bet it's gonna be some sort of Whittler, probably on the large side. That ought to make JJ.'s day..LOL
