Queen Cutlery & Friends

Knives have been made at the factory of Queen Cutlery Company of Titusville Pennsylvania for over 100 years. It is arguably the oldest and last American Cutlery that truly continues to produce knives in the same way as they were produced there when the factory opened in 1902. The factory’s first tenant was the Schatt & Morgan Cutlery Company: Queen Cutlery Company displaced Schatt & Morgan there in 1933. Queen City Cutlery Company first began to produce knives in 1918 around the end of the First World War, incorporated in 1922, and shortened their name to “Queen Cutlery Company” in January of 1946.  Purchased by Daniels Family Cutlery Corporation on September 18, 2012

    Chris,

you are correct that is made by Queen, before the transition.  I really like the TVCC although that is the one i did not get, just came out at a low $ time.

    Craig,

    Peanut...a pattern I adore!

    Peanut...Peanut....Peanut!!

Two votes for carbon steel! LOL!

  • Jan Carter

It is exciting to see companies that offer a variety of steels to make us all happy

OK, I am in for carbon also LOL

A Doctor's knife with a spatula blade! Nice!

  • Jan Carter

I like that it is a traditional pattern with an old material that is virtually impossible to get any longer

    Craig Henry

Okay, they need to bring these back......with carbon steel blades...........

I like this Jack Knife. Anyone have one?

  • Bill Fletcher

I would really like to see the Aged Honey Amber Stag Bone Series continue forward with D2, a really superior steel .  I'm part way home on filling out this collection.  I would hate to see  collectors stymied with a change.  I am a fan of the old carbon steel and there are plenty of opportunities for its' use elsewhere, PS Thank you for keeping this line available.

I'd like to see them come back with a full line of genuine Winterbottom Bone handles too. And a Peanut :)

  • Billy Oneale

I'm with you, Bill. I was trying to get all they made in that handle also. I have the folding hunter in Craig's picture, but not the jack. Craig, I have fell in love with the new winterbottom knives that Case has been selling recently, and I really like queen's winterbottom also.

    Craig Henry

Oh yeah, you're right Billy! I like the winterbottom knives that Case has been selling too!

    Now we can go nuts!

  • Jan Carter

Did you all know that Queen works with so many different types of steel?

The work horse line is 1095

The country Cousins line is D2

The fixed blades are 420 HC Stainless

I just did not realize they used such a variety

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

Also the Queen City series uses 1095. And the Honey Amber Bone uses D2.

  • Jan Carter

There doesn't seem to be many companies out there that have such a good line up of steels

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

I think the D2 is what stands out for them. Of course some love D2, some don't. "They" say it's hard to sharpen. I don't know, I've never used it or tried to sharpen it.

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

But, I WILL get a Queen fairly soon with D2.

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

Hey, look at these! I like!

  • Jan Carter

Me too.  If you could pick just one?

  • Featured

    Craig Henry

Just one? Hmmm.....maybe the Honey Amber Stag Bone at the top (I'm guessing that is their Honey Amber Stag Bone). Or maybe.......

This is a couple of old Queen knives that I own, they are both very well made. One is a light user and the other is in my collection. After, years of use, you almost can't tell the difference. I hope to buy and support, the Queen Company and wish them all the best.

Nice knives Robert! I'd like to get the non-lockback Mountain Man......maybe next month.

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

The Mountain Man model by Queen is a great knife for the Outdoorsman and is wonderful to look at. The model with amber bone has caught my eye for sometime now. I wish Queen would make some with 440c steel instead of D2. I find both steels good but 440c, is easier to fool with in the feild.

Robert, the Honey Amber Stag Bone is fantastic! I hope I can get some pictures of my new Queen #69 with it up soon.

    Robert,

I have never held a mountain man but I understand it is the top of line folder for its size.  Next show...I am checking them out
