Queen Cutlery & Friends

Knives have been made at the factory of Queen Cutlery Company of Titusville Pennsylvania for over 100 years. It is arguably the oldest and last American Cutlery that truly continues to produce knives in the same way as they were produced there when the factory opened in 1902. The factory’s first tenant was the Schatt & Morgan Cutlery Company: Queen Cutlery Company displaced Schatt & Morgan there in 1933. Queen City Cutlery Company first began to produce knives in 1918 around the end of the First World War, incorporated in 1922, and shortened their name to “Queen Cutlery Company” in January of 1946.  Purchased by Daniels Family Cutlery Corporation on September 18, 2012

Hey Ryan, I was wondering....These are done in house.  Right there in Titusville right?

  • Billy Oneale

Why not jump on the band wagon? I usually carry 1 of these type knives along with a traditional folder.I do hope they do them in house or at least in the USA.
  • Jan Carter

I did hear from Ryan on this Billy because it was a question from a member.  It is indeed done in house at the Queen factory in Titusville PA.

    Good Work Queen!

If anyone gets this one please let us know.  I have not been able to put my hands on one yet and I would love to hear about it first hand

  • Billy Oneale

Jan, now I want one when they are out.

I am hearing some real nice chatter about the Queen Classic line.  We bought one of them and I have to tell you it is just one very well built knife.  Reminiscent of some older knives in our collection in both materials and quality

I took this picture to send to someone else, but I thought I'd post it on here while I had the chance. These are all Queen knives.

Oh yea, Miss Jan you asked to see some old Queen knives back in October, well here they are, a little late. These are mostly Schatt Morgans, with one Robeson and finally, one Queen. I was wondering, can you tell which one is the Queen and which one is the real egg. Ha Ha..

    Craig Henry

I might have to get that Trapper!

  • Ron Cooper

Robert, that Robeson PocketEze is gorgeous! At first glance I thought that it was a Case Back Pocket. I would love to see a pic of it with the blade closed to see just how well they sunk the shoulder on that tang. That stag Mountain Man is a real beauty, also!

  • Jan Carter

    Craig,

Extremely low run on those trapper.  Thats the one we bought

Is he making more than 19 after the "first run"? Or is that it, period?

  • Jan Carter

I dont think he is making more this year anyway

I hate when companies make such short runs. It makes it tough on us that have HUGE want lists.

  • Jan Carter

LOL, I know that is does but it really makes a difference to the folks looking for the one of a very short run

Looks kinda like a modern update of the Sod Buster......kinda.

  • Jan Carter

There will be one adjustment from the sample.  Ken realized the thumb stud on this caught on the pocket so it is being modified before production

  • Jan Carter

Just a couple I thought I would share from this weekend show

  • Billy Oneale

I am going to have to have a Q Tac. They look great.
  • Jan Carter

I believe I will have one also.  I was very impressed with the knife.  I love a knife that "fits" in your hand.  When it just feels right I am more likely to use it

Wow! That's candy for my eyes! Did you do the work on the handle?

    BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The new management team at Queen Cutlery has come up with a unique way to introduce a new knifemaker/manufacturer collaboration—they are going auction the handmade prototype and donate the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
The prototype is not a typical one-of-a-kind proto but instead a full blown Joe Kious handmade hunter.
The Kious stag handled hunter that is the basis for a forthcoming Queen production version will be auctioned to the highest bidder at the 2013 Blade Show in Atlanta, Georgia. The total proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
Kious has long been regarded as one of the top knifemakers in the world, whose work has been featured in numerous art knife books and knife periodicals. One of his knives is featured in a scene in the 1991 movie, “Exposure,” in which a knife seller displaying his selection of combat knives to the star of the film picks up a smart dagger and says, “Joe Kious, very expensive.”
The Kious knife will come in a presentation case from Gunboxesusa.com, a division of John P. Scott Woodworking, Inc. Scott produces the presentation boxes for the Medal of Honor winners.

This is a silent auction that will end at the blade show BUT you have the chance to enter at anytime prior to that by Contacting RYAN Daniels at rdaniels@queencutlery.com

Had a chance to chat with Courtney Daniels this Morning.  She and Ashley Wright are at the Oregon Knife Collectors Association at The Lane Events Center in Eugene, OR.

"The Show was packed yesterday. Talked to various people, not too many younger folks though. This show is very big. It's very comparable to the Blade show. Just without booths and only table setups..  Tell anyone that is in the area to come see us today"
