Queen Cutlery & Friends

Knives have been made at the factory of Queen Cutlery Company of Titusville Pennsylvania for over 100 years. It is arguably the oldest and last American Cutlery that truly continues to produce knives in the same way as they were produced there when the factory opened in 1902. The factory’s first tenant was the Schatt & Morgan Cutlery Company: Queen Cutlery Company displaced Schatt & Morgan there in 1933. Queen City Cutlery Company first began to produce knives in 1918 around the end of the First World War, incorporated in 1922, and shortened their name to “Queen Cutlery Company” in January of 1946.  Purchased by Daniels Family Cutlery Corporation on September 18, 2012

    Emory,

I have forwarded your question to Ryan.  I am fairly sure he will have to get with the historian since it is an older model but we will get you an answer :)

  • Jan Carter

  • Ron Cooper

I really like the 2 S&M Keystone's -- the Gunstock and the Hunter! Sweet! But I sure wouldn't turn down that Locking Swing Guard if you were inclined to gift it to me *nudge nudge - wink wink*

Emory, that sounds like a Case canoe, with that Indian in a canoe on the blade. A picture would really help.

  • Bill Fletcher

Just got a Queen Stockman in the mail. It's extremely narrow....and I'm not quite sure whether I like or dislike that fact. Maybe it'll just take some getting used to. Time'll tell I guess. And if not it'll just be sold again :-)

No. When I went by there were a lot of people standing and talking and I thought I would make it back later. 8 hrs walking and talking non-stop, (No food, no drink, and no pee) and I still didn't get to see everybody I wanted to. Next year I'm going to have to go all three days

I have a Schatt & Morgan File & Wire Teardrop Jack, Series 2, Edition 2 from a few years past.  This series was advertised to have ATS-34 blade steel in these knives.  The box however is labeled "Queen Steel" on both sides.  I know that "Queen Steel" is not ATS-34 and I am wondering just which blade steel I have in my knife.  Can any of you Schatt & Morgan collectors help me out please?

  • In Memoriam

    Robert Burris

Dave, I am sure, all the "File & Wire" series are ATS-34 steel.

  • KnifeMaker

    Dave Taylor

Thank you Robert.  That was my understanding too and also why I purchased this knife.  It is in my pocket now.  ATS-34 is a fine steel for this high quality series.

    I appreciate your help!

    Robert Burris

Great Dave, you usually fine ATS-34 only on hand made knives and the higher end, production knives. I find it is one of the better stainless steels, on the market today. You may rest assured that if Queen says something about their knives, the info  and specks are dead on correct. Enjoy your knife Dave, you have a great one, there in your pocket.

  • KnifeMaker

    Dave Taylor

Thank you Robert.  All the better knowing it really is ATS-34.

I have a question for Ryan.

I would like to find one of each of the old Queen/ Schatt & Morgan catalog reprints that Queen offered a couple of years ago.

Are these still available, and if so how can I obtain them?  Any at the factory?

Thank you in advance for your help.

  • David Clark

  • Jan Carter

David, good work on finding them!

  • KnifeMaker

    Dave Taylor

David, you have certainly made my day today!!

I have placed an order for the catalogs and my check is on its way for payment.

I am excited about these catalogs because I enjoy history as well as fine traditional pocket knives, especially Schatt & Morgan and Queen.  I am happy these catalogs are still available!

Thank you for responding to my question here.  Very much appreciated.
