Here at Queen one of the very few things we out source is our Heat Treating. This is what our blades and springs look like before they are shipped out to be heat treated. The PH on our PH-D2 blades actually stands for the company's name we heat treat through, Peters Heat Treat

Peters Heat Treat is in Meadville, PA - north of Pittsburgh, so not only are the Queen knives made in PA, but the heat treat is done in PA.

Yep, right here in my backyard.  I used to work at a tool shop in Meadville when I was in High School, and we used PHT for all the tool steel treating.

Okay...seems I may have a budding knife enthusiast in the house. I'd love to find some info on kid related knife projects. I think it would be very cool to start her a collection of her own. And what are the chances of finding older kids knives...as in kids knives from previous years? Would appreciate any info I can get. Thanks folks!

I have one "bird knife " my grand kids love they also like all of the novelty and advertising knives, trick knives ring turners etc. Boy Scout Girl Scout and Brownie are all possibilities. The old sliding knives are reasonable and fun to collect. When my grand kids have their sixth birthday they get a pocket knife if their parents say they are ready and I gave one to my last granddaughter to turn 6. Hope this helps.

When we are copying a knife from a custom maker I tear apart the knife starting by tracing outline of parts by hand on to paper and transferring them onto steel and cut them out with a band scroll saw leaving parts a little heavy to get down to exact size needed and finish them to desired size. We will then use these hard copy parts to send out to get lasered out at Tonnard MFG. Corp out of Corry, PA

This is the die set with box type box fixture we use for quick and easy insertion for our new Tommy blocks to be dropped in

We use a stationary router table with fixtures we make in house to accommodate each style here are some Fossilized Spalted Maple Burl handles before and after routing

These are our new Bolster blocks after they were knocked in. Still need cleaned and sent to Peters Heat Treat to be Annealed and heat treated to 58- 60 for RC

This small forge is how we heat our Bolster Die blocks up before dropping in

ok im getting a too many knives that I want to carry, "is that possible" i guess not

The Queen Cutlery standard production 63 ACSB Railsplitter with beautiful aged honey amber bone handles, nickel silver bolsters, brass liners and pins and D2 Tool Steel blades clip,sheepfoot,spear. 3-3/4" closed is ideal and feels great in the hand

this one compares to any 3 blade sow or whittler that others have produced.

Ive been wanting to learn a little about whittlin and as much as i love the wharnie, I think this my be my first endeavor with the whittling world.

This is new for 2014 from Queen Cutlery the ones i received today all line great and snap like a gator down at John's in La. Its priced right and is beautiful yet rugged , i cant let it go... dont tell Cherry but Im keeping this one LOL 

Terry,   I think you should ask Danny Trejo is if it is possible to have too many knives that you want to carry.

I'm in the same boat Terry, maybe we should get coats like Danny so we can carry about 4 dozen at a time.

Very funny coat!.  I would cut myself.

Carry knives have to wait for their intermittent periods of favoritism.

  When I carry a fixed blade, I also carry a folder. When I carry a multi-tool I also carry a folder. When I carry a Hobo I also carry a folder. When I carry....get the idea. 

Robert when I carry a folder, I also carry a folder.  Matter fact, regardless of whatever other knife I'm carrying I always have my two EDCs with me.  The other knives I toss in my pockets  are more appropriately called  Occasional Carry Knives.  Hmm.  Maybe that should be a new acronym --  OCK.

I can't think of anyone more deserving of some recognition than you, my friend! And the photograph of that oak handled Queen fixed blade that I remember--set against the backdrop of that blue Missouri sky--was nothing short of spectacular. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you and your knife in Knives Illustrated.

Just ordered my first Queen knife, a Rail Splitter courtesy of Greg at TSA. I have been looking at them for a while now and couldn't stand the strain any longer . It will be an expensive month with the new GEC #92 that I am buying as well !

Just got my first Queen knife yesterday, Rail Splitter, it is a great knife . Really sturdy little fellow with nice short blades which is good when you live in the UK , knives are kind of frowned on here and big knives , well.....

Anyway I would recommend this to anyone looking for a tough little edc, D2 blades nice bone etc. Haven't tried sharpening the D2 yet so that may be interesting, not as bad an edge as a lot of knives that I have seen out of the box. Not a lot of them about I believe but the last I knew Greg had one left.
