J.J. the more I read on you the more alike we may be. I just love to sit on my porch and watch the day go by. I'm not much a whittler but do like to putts. I'm in Louisville Tennessee taking it as it comes.

  • Patrick A. Servey

Yes I'm less than 45 min. from the Great Smoky Mts. National Park. That pic. was taken in the Cherokee National Forest about an hour south of me. J.J. I spent 45 years in Iowa before I could get back Tennessee, you know how life goes. How I'm back and loving it. I've also got one of my sons and his family (two grandsons) to make the move. Life is good. Now if my other son would come just and stay, life would be great. Where are you ?

  • KnifeMaker

    Glenn "Oz" Osborne

J.J.  I've not ben to S. Carolina yet but, looking forward to seeing part of it. I'm trying to get back into reenacting, I like the French/Indian War and the Rev. War time periods. I've a Great relative that fought out of Burke County; N. Carolina. He had quite the time and he was the start of my people in Tennessee.

Thank You JJ, for making me feel welcome. That old hat that you have hanging up reminds me of some of the old ones that I have had when I was really active in the horses and cattle. Now I am into knives. Boy time really marching on. Vince.

  • KnifeMaker

    Jeff Keeler

Thanks J.J.  Like the pit carvings.

  • vince cummings

J.J. they say that it deffentley a Sheffield England pattern. withe the etching on the main blade, and them unique bolsters. He said it is a ver rare and interesting piece probably pre 1900. the man was Steve Pfeiffer, the auther of the Case Knives ID and price book. Whats so rare he said that almost un heard of a Sheffield England cutlery Co. making a contract knife like this for a hardware store. so that what I have found out so far. Vince.

  • KnifeMaker

    Jeff Keeler

    Thanks J.J.

  • vince cummings

I can't get to the first step , of your instructions , any ideas? my photos are in Easy Share if that tell you anything, sorry for all the trouble. Vince.

J.J. I only wish, around me they don't rendezvous it's not what happened down here and if it didn't happen they don't do it.  Up where I moved from I could every weekend some where. That is one of the things I do miss.

  • Patrick A. Servey

J.J. when I first got into rendezvous in the mid to late 70's, they where fun. The competition, party and camaraderie it was all goOD. Party around the campfire into the night get up first or not even go to bed, to have the first pot of coffee on in camp and bacon going that next morning we'd say shining times. Then after breakfast stagger off to compete with gun, knife and hawk, hangover and all again shining times. lol

  • Frank Stennett
