About Me
My Husband Donnie and I live in Hiawassee GA. I was Blessed to have found iKC and became the owner in October of 2012. I believe all knife collectors are created equal, no matter what type they collect. iKC brings a different direction to knife collecting in my opinion, you may not personally like something or have an issue with a particular company. But respect is a substantial aspect of what we are about. I have a strong faith and believe everyone is entitled to theirs.
Interests
History, fishing, Diving, knife collecting and about a billion other things LOL. My main interest these days is iKC and bringing the future generations into knife collecting.
Other Hobbies
there are other hobbies? OK, I found one! Watching my husband learn to build knives

Thanks a lot for your nice birthday card, Jan, an (late but sincere) congratulations for your election  to the National Knife Museum's Board of Directors.

    Nice place ya got here.

  • Jim Thompson

Thanks for the comments on the "dawn of a new era" whittler pix. Exotic handled knives are difficult, especially in pearl, to photograph. I struggled with this one until I put it on a a black background. I talked to Ryan about this knife at our April knife show & he indicated they sold fast. I was fortunate to find that Frank (thru his ad on I Knife) had one for sale on his web site.

thank you for the welcome :)

    Hi Jan,

Thanks for the invite to your last Friday night's get together with you and the other nice folks here at iKC and SMKW.  It was another evening of good humor and a fun time.

Speaking of time, I spent some time watching your videos links tonight, including your National Knife Museum Tour, which I only now understand is under the roof of SMKW.  With this in mind, and with the shared good will and hospitality of iKC and SMKW, I thought I should let you know that I opened up a credit line tonight at SMKW and purchased a few choice pieces of nickel silver bolstered, bone scaled, old school, slip joint cutlery.  Thanks to you, Jan, for your introduction to the crew at SMKW.  If you talk with them any time soon, please take the credit and let them know that it was you and iKC who made the introduction and facilitated the sale.

    Cheers and best regards, GZ

Thanks Jan. Wow, I'm very impressed by the many "welcome" notes I received after joining your crew! Seems like a very friendly place.  Can you tell me how to change my profile photo? I uploaded a photo when I initiated my membership, but that pic seems to have been replaced by some other photo.  I uploaded the photo again to my page, but I can't figure out how to get that pic to be my primary profile pic. I am totally new to this type of "forum / chat" website, so I hope you won't mind me asking for help.  Really looking forward to participating here! Thanks - Jon Salmon

I also won but I haven't received my knife yet. I emailed Ryan but haven't heard from him as of yet??

Miss Jan, I have a little problem. I'm trying to sign up for the Knifeshow.com but it keeps saying my pass word is wrong. Something like, alpa   numerca,  I don't know what they mean. I tried all kinds of pass words and still no go. Help please. Rob

  • johnny twoshoes

Jan, it's so good to hear from you!!!
I tried to send you a message on a couple of occasions, but they never went through and I gave up the effort. I shouldn't have.

I apologize for my lack of contact and my rude and inexcusable silence. I have failed as a friend. I have been missing you guys so much, I hope you are all doing well.

I am but a ghost of my former self, I haven't written, I haven't taken a picture and I haven't bought a knife in a little over 5 months. Does that sound anything like Johnny Twoshoes?

I have visited IKC on a few occasions and I'm so happy to see the new faces and the new look of this place, it's really something awesome.

You guys have been on my mind for the last month or so, I pray when you guys come to mind.

I have a lot to share with you all and I am trying to get back to it, but I need to find my heart again before I make it.

I will be attending the Rendezvous as always, but I won't be there until Saturday.

I cannot send you a private message for some strange reason???

Miss Jan, last night I bought a WW1 Hobo knife, in good condition. A Court House exhibition, from a small town, sold it to me. With a blade on one side and a spoon on the other, it looks like a Moose..lol  I am really excited. I'll post a picture on the club when I get it. Oh yea, it's Solingen German made. One tang stamp has a figure and the name TAHL....SHNIZ?.....Solingen. The question mark, stands for a letter, I can't make out. These three words are in a circle with what looks like a bird with long legs and feet. With no head.

I know you may not know what it is, I just had to tell you about it. Hey maybe Miss Sue would know? Bless Ya'll. Have a great day, Donnie, Too.....Rob

  • Ron Cooper

Thanks for those dancing Birthday Chili Peppers, Miss Jan! <BIG Grin> lol

Miss Jan, I've been working on the knife review for the White River knife and was wondering how the want it? First I have a story type and the short version. I thought, I'd put the story type on "Sharper Review Group" but do they want the shorter version too? I have both almost finished, Sorry it took a while, I had a lot of things going on around here.

  • Charles Campagna

Thanks for the wonderful welcome, Jan. It was an honor to meet you and Donnie in person, and spend a little time!

I will lie low until I learn the ropes here. Those Barlows have my full attention at the moment - over 400 made, and only 100 left, since the debut at the Rendevous!!

    Talk to ya soon,

    Charlie
