These are from the 44th show January 2013. That Show was 60% knives and 40% gun an other. The January 2014 show will be 100% knives, pre 1898 guns and knife related vendors.
Thanks for inviting me Charles. While I've got quite a bit of knowledge and small amopunt of shooting experience, the closest thing I have to shooting implement right now is this bad boy!
Charles, I thought the contest and prizes were over for your contest. I just sent Miss Jan, the Frost knife to be used as part of the prizes for the Promotion Contest. We may be in trouble, it looks like, a winner of your contest may want it. Please contact Miss Jan about it. I have some more Frost knives, I can use as prizes but only one like that one. Contact me about all this, please. Rob.
Well thanks Charles as soon as i figure out how to navigate the pages I'll have pic's and post i noticed on yourpicture row you have a knife made byacompany in R.I. Imperial I have one like it except mine is stamped U.S.MARINES, got it frommy granparents when I enlisted in '69
Charles, just saw your blog "My Visit To Smoky Mountain Knife Works". It brought back some wonderful memories. I made a pilgrimage there from Florida about 10 years ago. Spent 2 full days there and could have spent more if time had allowed Of course, I had to buy a few (maybe several LOL) Case knives while I was there !! Lord willing and if the creek don't rise, I'll be able to visit SMKW again.A truly wonderful experience if you are a knife "addict", like me.
Yes I do work for TVA in the Nuclear Division. Be there since 2005. I have 40 years in the business and have retired 2 times from other companies but TVA made me an offer hard to refuse. I tell them I am on the 2, 10, 12 plan. If they piss me off twice before 10 am I am gone by noon. It's been a great career.
Charles thats a good success story on deer huntin. This year I killed the deer of a lifetime. He is non-typical with 18 points and measured 173 5/8 inches. I lived at Athens AL for 3 years while doing soil test calibration of fertilizer and lime in 12 counties in north AL and worked for Auburn. more later-thanks
I lived there from Jan 1976 until Jan 1980. J.G. Bill Link from Athens was close friend. I met Bill Strain who was one of the first Case collectors I ever knew. Some body sent me to see Jim Sargent and I started to add real stuff (at a slow pace in those days) to my case collection. I worked out of the Tennessee Valley Experiment Station at Belle Mina. I was an employee of Auburn and Goldkist paid 1/4 of my salary. I did soil test calibration of fertilizer and lime in 12 counties in N. AL. I presented my soil fertility results at TVA somewhere-memory challenged these days! I loved the job but my wife was too close to her family and N. AL. was too far from west texas so I took a job as a ranch mgr and moved to Moulton, Tx in 1980.
I still have the stuff I bought from Sarge while there.
