How long have you collected knives?
3- 5 years
Favorite Kind of Knives
Collect: Favorites are folders - Canoes and Butterbeans - Case mostly, some Queen and Great Eastern
Use: Favorites are fixed-blades. No favorite brands - I go for the steel and try different ones. Just got a Blackbird SK-5, couple of customs (s30v & M2), 440C, old Cattaraugus 225Q - which might be 1095, D2, etc. Have a fixed-blade on my hip and a folder in my pocket every day.
About Me
Lower middle class upbringing on a ranch - which is to say that in that stratum, collecting of any sort, unless it is free or someone elses junk is frowned upon. You need two knives; a pocket knife and a hunting knife. Serious collecting didn't occur to me until nearing retirement in 2008
Interests
Knives and knife company history, Zippos, guns, hunting.
You've joined a great forum. Here you'll meet lots for collectors who share your interest in the type of knives you collect. You'll find different groups that offer topics that you may want to learn more about and and become a member. When you have a chance check out my photos of my favorite knives and I'd like to see photos of your favorite knives.
You're welcome and thank you, it's all about friendship and sharing what we enjoy collecting and doing.
Here is where ever you are and everywhere; it's no place in particular. I think we're in Knifeville. As you navigate through iKC you'll eventually find where you want to be.
Hey Howard, I am just curious. How did Taurus work with you on replacing that rifle that came apart on you? I have read that their customer service isn't the best. Did you have any problem getting them to replace the rifle?
Thanks for joining the Outdoor Group, I hope you enjoy your time there. You don't have to be a hunter or fisherman to join or enjoy the Outdoor Group. Just enjoy the great outdoors.
I'm nippin' at your heels -- Lord willin' I'll be 68 in July. Ouch! And to think that they wasted a good word like sexagenarian on old guys like us. I felt more deserving of that title when I was in my 20's -- Not now in my 60's! *sigh*
But, we're still in the game! And that's what really matters. I hope you have a great day today and that this next year will be smooth sailing as we both approach septuagenarian-hood. You take the point! lol

Howard, you are fortunate that the gun didn't come apart as it was fired. You could have been seriously injured.
Anyway that is a good entry in the contest. This contest is going to hard to judge. So far there are eight entries and I like them all!
