Yes
How long have you collected knives?
6- 10 years
Favorite Kind of Knives
Vintage pocket knife patterns and non-tactical lockbacks. I am currently collecting stock and cattle knives. I used to collect lockbacks, but I've noticed that now I have more stockmans. I basically buy whatever I like & rotate carrying them. That's why I avoid tacticals. What I need is a "concealed carry permit" for knives, lol.

Cats, Maneki Nekos, revolvers, snubbies, books, movies, music, travel.
Other Hobbies
Window-shopping, buying, and selling on eBay. Smoky Mtn Knifeworks got me started with knife collecting. eBay has kept me going.

Donald I saw a comment bout your pic taking and lighting. This was posted on another forum and thought it might help, it talks about the bulb which would help by itself for Natural lighting!

Here is the light box I use, just stuff I bought around town. I was putting the lights in from the front, but I now light from the top thanks to sharpbycoop and I think it is much better.

Here is the light box set up. The light is just a clamp on shop light from Lowes and the bulb is a CFL that has a 5000K rating (if the box doesn't say, you may have to take the bulb out and read the base of it) which is a color rating. I just used one to take these pics, I usually use two and I think it is better with two using on created a hot spot in the center of the blade. The bracket is made out of 1/2" PVC pipe so when I'm done it just pulls apart for easy storage. The top of the box is covered with white nylon. I also think a table top tri pod is a must.

The box is just a foam display board cut down, that way it folds up for easy storage.

Here is a pic using a reflector at the base of the tri pod, just a piece of cardboard covered with aluminum foil to cast light at the bottom of the knife.

Great profile Donald - I like some of the same knives you do. Traditional vintage.

Whoa! A guitar AND a knife! Like IS good!

That Nomad would make a great EDC! Congratulations on that acquisition. And a good guitar is a great companion. I used to do a little strumming a long long time ago when I was in the service. I even had my girlfriend's name painted on my ghee-tar - Diane.

But then I got two fingers on my left hand crushed and that pretty much killed my chances of being the next Les Paul. lol The hand recovered, fine, but I never picked up the guitar again. Oh, well - huh?

I'm glad to hear you had yourself a great birthday, Don! Enjoy your presents in good health, my friend.

    Cheers!

Nice! And if you think amps have come along, do a little searching on guitars and computers. There are some amazing programs out there that turn your system into any amp you can think of! Full stacks, headers, bass amps...you name it. And any pedal you can imagine as well.
