Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

My place of work recently replaced all of the bearing on a piece of machinery.  The nature of this machine dictates that there is quite a few bearings involved.

Being the cheap, scrounge hound that I seem to be, I procured the small roller bearings in each of the shaft bearings.

All of these little roller bearings (Ø.197 x .237" long) were covered in bearing grease and were honestly a bit of a bugger to clean up.  Of course my little scale did not have the ability to weigh them all at once, so I had to tare out a plastic cup, and use it a few times to get all of them weighed.

Total weight is 289.20 ounces (18.075 pounds).  That ought to be enough for a couple of knives anyway.

For those of you that watch Forged In Fire, you will probably know that Jay Nielson really likes his canister damascus.  I figured these would be great in creating a nice billet, so I went and got some 1095 powder, so I will have the materials when I feel I am ready to try my hand at making a canister damascus billet.

Just wanted to share what I thought was a pretty nice score.  :)
