Cheers for the quick response D. I thought it might be mid to late 80's. This one is so smooth on the action I can open it one handed with a small leather lanyard around my pinky finger. As for carrying it- well I haven't put it down since I got it this morning!!!

I always intend to carry the beautiful knives I buy, but in reality I have one permanent EDC- that I love to hate- an ol yella' Steel Warrior two blade trapper, my only Chinese knife but it snaps like a bear trap and sharpens easy. Between the two blades I can do everything from cutting radiator hoses on my truck to getting the last of the peanut butter out of the jar when I'm done working on the vehicle....Thanks again for taking the time to find that photo- I'll look up AG and see if he can shed any more light on the subject. Cheers from Gregory.J in Oz...

@ Gregory ..  here's a pic of that damascus folder I mentioned .. out of Seki City.Japan.

A similar frame .. but not exact.

Pretty sure I purchased mine (new) in the mid 80's. I carried it for awhile .. holds an edge GREAT. Looked pretty sweet too.

???? You going to carry your's ????
