The Sportsmans Pocket Ulu is simply a version 2 with a set of rubberized scales, thumb stud, and a pocket clip. In my opinion, the pocket clip is not functional, it's far too low to make it useful.
Still, it's a decent little folder.

couldn't wait until tomorrow, Jan.

They definitely are replaceable.  Remove the screws anf the rubber is simply held in place with a light tack adhesive.  I'll check the wooden one when it gets in.

I'm counting on it to feel nicer than the rubber scales.  If you're wanting one to rehandle, this one costs about a buck more thsn the wooden one, but this one had the pocket clip.

Folks here just took a production model and epoxied on custom scales.

more than likely, Jan.  I'll check it out when the new one gets here.

The ones that had the custom scales were the regular ones that the folks just added them.

hmmm, are the scales on this one replaceable?

they're quite an unusual knife design, from a folder standpoint, Tim.  but I like odd knives, and these sure fit the bill.

The last of my pocket ulus is due in this week.

I expect it to be something like this one, but in the lock back.version.

I'd never describe "Frostwood" as exotic...

well, it might look like "frost wood", but i have one on order...

might need one with the wooden scales.  can't find one with "custom" scales anywhere, Amazon and the place in alaska don't have them in stock any longer.

I like it with the scales also
