Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

My BK2 in process. I've been researching a ton on what to do. I stripped the paint then wet sanded with 300, 400, 600, 1000 and 1500. After all that work I really don't want to force a patina. I will either force a patina under the scales or possibly undercoat with bedliner spray. I've also read of someone packing it with grease. I may attempt to whittle scales for it.

Tuna, you should check out this website:

these guys have all stabilised woods which are solid as synthetic materials. But WAY nicer looking. They'll also cut any block into scales for free if you want.

I've got some blocks from them Great service.

I wish you guys wouldn't do this. Now you have me feeling like getting back into re-handling and doing one too! LOL! I'm excited to see how both of yours turns out.....which I know is going to be great!

It has been such a fun stress relieving project. I really like the shine so I'm gonna do everything I can to keep it.
