Both are beauties.  I miss good mexican food!  Now we have some spectacular Cuban food here!

Howdy, Max! No churros this trip. But I did go to Cielito Lindo for taquitos!

My adopted mother was born in Mexico and took me to Olvera Street several times when I was only little shaver. I'm talking in the early 1950's. She was the one who introduced me to their taquitos and I have been going there ever since! They are the best. Period!

My VA Medical Center is only a block away from Olvera Street so I am down there often. There is another local landmark which is just a block away from Olvera St. in the opposite direction. Philippes! They are famous for their French Dip sandwiches. Double yum!

If you're ever in Los Angeles these are two places that I highly recommend if you enjoy grubbin' as much as I do. All this talk of good food has got me hungry! I'm gonna go grab some lunch!

Chow, er, I mean ciao, my friend!
