I had to special order the steel from Frye Steel in California to get 3/8" thick 440C 3" wide. It was pricey plus they charged $40 just to package it PLUS shipping! You can get 1/4" 440C from Admiral up to 6" wide.

Yes, that was a monster. 3/8" thick 440C stainless steel and over 3 lbs. A LOT of polishing to get a mirror finish on that blade. But it's what the customer wanted and it was a neat knife. Real attention getter.
