I picked up one of these single blade GEC 23 Beaver Tail liner locks, and to be honest, can't tell you why! I knew it would be too large for my liking. I knew the pull would be stronger than I would like. And I knew I would be scratching my head wondering why there was a half stop on a liner lock ... especially one with a strong spring like this! Okay ... I bought it because I liked the jigging on the cherry AND, because I was quick enough to snag one without being on a reserve or pre-order list! It was almost like a lottery win!

Lol Dennis, enjoy it.  I agree the 23 is a tough one.  I prefer the single blade 73

It's a nail chipper for sure Ron!  Fortunately, longer blades are a little easier to open with such a heavy pull than smaller blades.  I can get it started with my thumbnail, then switch to a pinch.  However, it still eats away at the thumbnail!!!

And.....it has the highly prized beaver shield! That's a win in my book. But, boy oh boy! If the pull on your knife is anything like the pull on my 23 ~ circa 2008 ~ then, you'd best be gettin' a good knife pick. Or do what I've had to do, and that's keep that nail breakin' son of a gun on the shelf!
