Steve!
Ya know, I looked at that big ol' knife and once I got done drooling over it and regained my composure, I had a gut instinct that a knife like that had to have a story behind it and that I should ask you what that story was. Am I glad I did! What a great story. And what a great trade! You're right! From my perspective you definitely got the better deal. You can always buy another pole n' reel. But this is a once in a lifetime, one of a kind knife. There's not another one like and no amount of money could buy another one, either. Yep. You definitely scored!
Thanks for sharing this story and also for sharing a bit of the history of the Seminole Tribe. Good stuff, my friend!
Cheers!
Hi Ron, As I said, I live in So. Florida in Okeechobee City "Lake Okeechobee" One of the best Bass lakes in USA.
There is ALOT of Native American Heritage here, The Seminoles are the most prevalent. There is a Reservation here in Okee called the Brighton Res. and they Own Hundreds of Thousands of acres here, but are a very small and generally unknown tribe. The Seminoles, by the way, are "The ONLY undefeated Native American Tribe in USA".Any way I go there to fish sometimes and one day I saw an Old Tribal Elder having a Yard sale, mostly selling the shirts and Jackets they are known for. I asked him, as I do anytime I go to Yard Sale if he had and old Knives, and he said wait a minute. He came out with 6 knives and said I could pick ONE. I said I couldn't pick one until I knew how much they are, and he said they are all the same price, and I could afford it. I picked this knife and then asked him what I owed him and He said, Pick of MY FISHING poles and reels. Long story short, it cost me a Tournament Fenwick 8' Trigger Stick and a Diawa Tournament Procaster. I feel I got the better deal, as he had made these knives when he was a boy,and I had only bought the rod with Money. GOOD DEAL ALL THE WAY. Don't you think?
Steve, that's quite a hunk of steel ya got there on that big boy! Is there a story to go along with that beauty?
