1925-1932

When I included this knife in the 'family photo', I had just gotten it and was able to do the most superficial cleaning.
Since then, I have gone through this knife completely, and it is looking a good deal better.

Being as this is almost a 100 years old, there are a few things that I could not get cleaned up, so it is not perfect; but looking about as good as I can expect.

LOL.

Strictly for 'educational purposes'....

The tear down of the RH 34.  The junction between the brass spacer and the leather discs had a lot of corrosion.  I am suspecting that this was caused from the moisture that the leather spacers absorbed over the years.  I was hesitant to dis-assemble the handle, but those two corroded junctions just bugged me more and more.  I just couldn't help myself.  "I can fix it!"   LOL

That's a great sympathetic resotration...and you even got all the spacers back in the right order! Nicely done.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the same one that you sent me photos of when you had it completely torn down. I found those photos most interesting, as I do not have any knives with this style of stacked leather grips. It gave me a greater appreciation of the overall construction of the piece. You may want to add those photos to this posting as well...for educational purpsoes, of course. (smirk)

Thanks for sharing Kevin - your restoration work is always impressive and good to see.
