My latest 3-blade whittler. This mother of pearl humpback whittler was made by the late Robert Enders. I am guessing that he made it sometime in the 1990s, since he passed away in 1999. Don’t have much info on it, but assume the blade steel is ATS-34 (a steel he liked to use). One thing I do know is that is a big'un for a whittler … coming in at a closed length of 4.125". I have three other much smaller humpbacks (Tuna Valley, Colonel Coon, and Robeson) and this Enders humpback dwarfs them!

Thanks JJ.  The main blade shape is slightly different than my other humpbacks.  I think the shape is called a Dao (after the Chinese sword of the same name).

WOW, Dennis, that's killer.

I'm not much of a MOP fan, but this one is awesome.  I don't know what you'd call the main blade but it's simply sweet on this knife.

Id love to see it in a nice burnt stag...

Thanks for the info. Have a great rest of the week.

Yes, and while S&M lock back version of the humpback was smaller than this one (it was 3 5/8" closed), it was larger than the Tuna Valley, Colonel Coon, and Robeson humpbacks (which came in at a hair over 3" closed).

That is big. That pattern has always intrigued me. Is that the pattern S&M did a lockback version of?

Trust me, photo does not do the pearl justice. I could spend weeks on end trying to capture the beauty and luminescence of MOP in a photo and still fail miserably! Regardless, a beautiful knife and didn't realize how much of a handful it would be until it arrived! I did a comparison photo of it with my Tuna Valley humpback:
