I like having the blades rotate on bushings .. which are pinned in place by the "standard" pins. From the outside .. the completed unit will appear quite traditionally pinned. While inside .. much larger brass bushing will bear the forces applied to the blade.
.... and certainly doesn't hurt to have a lockback mechanism securing the main blade in place.Nor those scales. This is going to look nice when finished & perform well for many years.
