Wenger basically wnet bankrupt in 2005 and Victorinox bought the company to keep it going.  Either late last year or eraly this year, they decided to consolidate knife production under the Victorinox name to eliminate confusion on what is or isn't a true Swiss Army Knife (for years, Victorinox made Original Swiss Army Knives and Wenger made  Genuine Swiss Army Knives).  To this day, people have thought that Wengers are just knock-offs of the real deal.

This combined with the cost of producing two lines of knives in which many are almost identical led to the decision to eliminate the Wenger name from knives and use it for the watches and other assorted out-door gear. Many of the Wenger knives will be gone but some will be re-branded and packaged as Victorinox.

oh..almost forgot...they actually have 2 different tweezers..one is slightly larger than the other...I found this out when replacing a lost pair on my big model

well, it looks great!  and wengers makes the best little tweezers there are! i actually have bought their tweezers to use..by themselves! i have only two wengers now...one too big for edc...and other is very small key-ring model...they do make a great, quality knife.  well..pretty much everything they make {that i know of} seems to be of quality standards.

Jeff:  I sure did.  The first time I saw a Snife was when I saw it up for bid on Ebay with about 4 minutes left in the bidding.  No one had made a bid and I assumed it might be a "swiss style" knife being passed off as a Genuine Wenger Swiss Army Knife.  The few minutes were spent at SAK Wiki making sure it was the real deal.

Regrettably my only one.  I ran across it in an eBay auction and snagged it for around $10.  It was missing the tweezers, something that was easily rectified.  Mine is now truly non-standard as I replaced the missing key ring with one of the older chain type key rings from an older "junk" Wenger that served me well for many years.

I suppose I should take another pic of it.

Do you have very many Snife models? There are 10 large Commander type models and 5 Esquire type models. Some are really interesting designs and some are Eh.....
