"I do not believe the end of the handle design is of a P3.  I concur with a P2 design.  The P1 had a similar handle but the blade ricasso was way too big on the 1st pattern"

"The F-S knife was designed around 1941 but really gained its notoriety in 1944 at Normandy. Being as this is a pretty popular blade, there are a ton of replicas and copies around.  I may have to re-evaluate my suspicion of authenticy though...…"
