Disappointed with PUMA KNIVES (www.pumaknives.de)

2 months ago, I bought 3 knives from Puma directly   (www.pumaknives.de).  As a very reputable knife maker, hailing from the very Knife Capital of Europe, Solingen, Germany, I presume the quality of knives should be top-top-notch workmanship!
The service was hassle free, I recieved my knives in Singapore promptly, through a forwarder.
When I opened the box, I was at first very pleased with the items.
On closer examination, I find the following as shown in the photos and videos:
1) the Alligator presents some tiny cracks, chip off and shiny marks (presumably filing marks)
2) the Alligator presents a big play in the closed position, the blade was moving when the blade is closed (see video)!
3) the Naris has some gluey /greasy substance at the wooden scales, which cannot be wiped off. the blade is greasy, and there are some cracks and shiny marks
4) the OneHand Puma has some whitish shiny marks on its otherwise black handle.

Naturally i emailed back and sent my feedback to Puma Knives and they asked me to ship back the items, preparing to replace or do the necessary rework for me.  After sending numerous emails to check on the status and non-responses,  finally, one day, on recieving the items, they decided not to replace the items unilaterally. This is quoted from the sales person:
" I will not send replacement knives back to you. Regarding the naris and
aligator models, that were our last items of this charge. So I can not send
you better ones. The TEC series is not what you want. I will not get better items. I am sorry
for this, but at the moment there is no alternative for German made knives."

I am generally very disappointed with Puma Knives.
Till now, I have not get back my refund.

Lets just continue to comment on the quality and customer service aspects of puma knives. Anyone who has bought from puma recently, care to comment on its quality?

Wow, That's not good. I don't have any Puma knives except for a small gentleman's knife that I bought about 3 yrs ago. I mostly buy Boker for my German made knives. I also have a few Hen & Roosters that are German made, along with a Weidmansheill and a few Buck Creek knives. The Bokers are by far the best.

will update once there are further developments.

I am a new knife collector, based on the photos i sent, do you think it is reasonable for me to reject such blemishes, chip-off, etc.?

Is the big play acceptable in the closed blade position, do you see this issue on other linerlock folders?

This:

Is simply not true. Böker has a german made line of knives and their german line is of the HIGHEST quality. This simply mirrors what I've heard about Puma. They used to be the best....and now they're one of the worst. Their vintage knives are highly sought but their current productions are shunned by most knifecollectors.

KK Low,

I am sorry you had that experience.  I am with you and Hog, surprised.  There are too many alternative companies to choose from right now in the industry and I would think they would want to keep you as a customer.  I would have thought buying direct from the manufacture would have secured you a high level of service.  It's a shame, et us know how this plays out if you would please
