I am wanting to reshape a sheepsfoot  blade on an existing knife, unfortunately I will loose my nail nick if I do that, Has anyone ever tried to put a different nail nick in any existing knife blade?  I am thinking about using a cut off blade in a dremel tool.  Any suggestions?

Forgot to mention one more thing, Rex.  Depending on what kind of knife you're working on, you might need to modify the frame to allow room for the nail nick.  Here's my Opinel with the frame sanded out with a sanding drum.  I've since put a nail nick in this one too.

Most small lock-backs don't need this, but a slipjoint might.

Thanks all, I will give the Dremel diamond wheel a try

I have to go with JJ on this one.  He had reshaped many knives for his own use and is VERY good at figuring the best way to keep the integrity of the blade and have the end product be usable

Rex,

The main blade on this lockback was modified using a dremal.

Initial nick was done with a diamond cut-off wheel,

and shaped with an aluminum oxide stone.
