Hey Rob, it got here quick. I spent the evening reprofiling the edge. And when I say the evening I mean pretty much the entire evening.
That steel put up a very good fight. It did NOT want to be sharpened. But it's a gorgeous shiny edge now (pics will follow)
I'm very happy with it btw. I do actually remember commenting that I was sad that I missed out on this knife. So I'm very happy to have it compliment my Queen Gunstock. Thanks a bunch.
btw, I dug up the rest of the farriers rasp that I still had. So whenever you know what kind of knife you'd like, let me know and I'll get cracking on this.
Will do Robert. I'll let you know when it gets here. Probably won't be for around 2 weeks or so though. Do you have some thoughts as to what kind of knife you'd like?
Robert, thanks for adding me as your friend! I enjoy your posts and seeing your pictures. One can never have too many friends. Thanks for sharing and caring!!
Hey Robert, doing pretty well. As you might have seen I'm getting back on the knifemaking horse. My youngest child and work and health have all gotten in the way lately so I'm really happy to be doing something that I enjoy again.
I'd enjoy building a knife for you in exchange for another one. I don't remember what knife I commented on but I do enjoy building knives for people so I'd love to make you something. What kind of thing did you have in mind? Something that I've already finished? Or something that's yet to be made? Or maybe something similar to something I've already done? Or even something completely new? Let me know.
Thanks Robert. I'll take some pictures of the knife I just got started on. Hoping to have enough free time on this day of my birth to be able to set the grind.
Robert, Sorry I haven't gotten back to you since you added me as a friend, I cklick on the Accept button on my phone checking emails while I was at my brother in laws funeral and kept meaning to get back to you when I got home in the eve but i kept forgeting.
THANK YOU for adding me as one of your friends always enjoy your posts and pics!
Hey...my deepest sympathies Robert...you know that in our most troublesom moments ...we are not alone!
My prayers are sent for you and your family...May God shine a light and wrap you in his arms...bind your family in his love mercy and grace...and then you will know that you are not alone...he is the beginning and the end through it all...just learn to trust him. GOD BLESS YOU ROBERT and Your family...God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble...Psalm 46 verse 1
Hey Robert. Good luck with that. I've never made any home brew so I can't offer any advise but I'm one heck of a critic. LOL. In case you didn't catch that, it was my subtle way of saying "hey, pass some my way!" Guess I'll need to plan on doing the next knife show that pops up in LA. Talk to you soon, Jeff
Yes ...I have been fortunate I have a gentleman who is a friend...that lives in Dawson Creek BC...that has buffalo and lets me know when he needs a few animals taken out of his herd...I am actually waiting for him to notify me to when he needs more taken...hopefully within the next month or two...maybe... as long as the critters behave! There was 7 in the back of my truck picture...3 calves...3cows and 1 bull...we made them fit all in...my truck is a 1ton..which helps...lol
Greetings thanks for the support...it has been and always will be a battle...but I am glad that we can come together with a common understanding or like for...pokers!
The honor is all all mine my friend. I love this site and all the friendly members just like you that make it up. I look forward to the many great conversations will we have about our wonderful hobby. Jeff
