I surley wish it was legit. I have a significant collection of Case knives (none with blade stamping this old) and all of the research I have done I have not seen this specific pattern style in the Case lineup. If I can remember I will consult Jim Sargents opinion at our knife club show in August.

Maybe a bit of rust here and there , otherwise good to go. Looking at a Goverment issue machete by Ontario. In the process of making a Kukri for clearing brush etc. where I deer hunt, but think it'd be kinda nice to have a decent machete instead. Not too expensive , rugged and easy to sharpen . Has the sawback on top edge to remove smaller diameter stuff too. Watched a great vid on Youtube where the guy made a decent/inexpensive kit on outside of sheath {wildernessoutfitters}.
