great video, thanks. just a couple question. whats the brand name, i think i might get one. can you set the angles between the marks also? does the blade clamp in place or do you hold it while sharpening? thanks. i was thinking of getting a KME system, but this looks decent and money saved can go into better stones.

I forgot to mention the MOLDMASTER's cut very very fast.  They really are a nice stone IMO. Even if you don't have this sharpener you could use them for portable stones.

Very nice video. I have the EP Apex and you hit on the primary benefits of the system.  One thing about economy stones is you can get some at "http://congresstools.com/catalog/categories/get-subcategory/?id=27".  These are the "MOLDMASTER" stones that I've used. They do a very nice job and are very economical. They leave a very attractive scratch pattern without any deep scratches. I have the 220, 320, 400 and 600 grits. The 600 gets a little muddy when using water. The 400 leaves a very nice finish. The only problem with these stones is they don't come glued to a mounting blank that you need to use them in the sharpener. But I bought some aluminum blank material at Lowe's in 36" or 48" lengths and cut my own and glued the stones to them. The aluminum is easy to cut with a hacksaw or if you have a Dremel it's faster. Works great. When buying these you should get them in 1/8" thick or 1/4" thickness.  Of course the 1/4" thick stones will last longer and they are only a little more expensive. The other dimensions are 1" wide and 6" long. For anyone not familiar with using the EP or this tool when changing stones, if they are different thickness you need to adjust the angle so the new stone will hit the blade edge at the angle you want. This is a known issue and easily learned to deal with.  Anyway, nice video and defenately a good tool for the price. Looks like it might do just as good as the EP.

I really enjoyed watching your video, Adam. And I have to say that this sharpener looks like it would be every bit as good as an Edge Pro if you were using decent sandpaper. I mean, really, it all boils down to maintaining a consistent angle. I think that's why most people, myself included, are merely mediocre when sharpening by hand. With a system like this I can almost hear the audience in that Ron Popeil commercial... http://tinyurl.com/set-it-and

Looks and works as well as my Edge Pro Apex for 1/10 of the price. I may pick one just to have it set up for another grit.
Great review Adam.
