Here is some video of me using my Colonial Bushcraft Defiant CE400. (If I could hit the same spot twice in a row, I would do a lot better!)

It would have done the job even better if I was any good at chopping!  Back when I was  young (goodness, that was half a century ago!) I was very good at chopping.  We heated our farm house with wood stoves and cooked on a wood cook stove.  I had to chop and split a lot of wood.  But that all ended when I went off to college.

I need to sharpen the knife too.  It will slice paper but will not shave hair at all.  I went to Colonial's web site and asked what angle it was sharpened at.
