Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Okay, it may have been a secret on IKC but it really isn't that much of secret in other circles.  I've been working on Tiki Lounge in my basement for years and it is now coming to fruition!  Of course you'll need to walk through the "Cutlery Cavern" to get to the "Toby's Tiki Lounge" but that is no biggie!

The problem I'm having is I need to figure out what knives should populate a Tiki Lounge.   Now as one wall is going to have both older and newer fishing tackle, displaying fish knives in that area is a no brainer.  And i'll my Camillus Host knives and bar knives at or behind the bar.

but the real problem is what knives to display with things like the Tiki Masks and other Polynesian decor?  Any thoughts or suggestion are deeply appreciated!

 Tiki Knives?

Well that's a start.  Opinels?

yes sir and actually looks like a great wood carving project

Mr. Gibson----Errr.... Tobias--- Maybe some sugar cane cutting style machetes--- Or possibly, you could make some Polynesian weapons like these---  Some of these feature sharks teeth, but I figure you have an endless supply of yeti teeth from your decimation of their ranks with your "Sasquatch Slasher"--- They would probably make a decent substitution-- teeth wise-

all good really wonder what the theme will be?

As we're talking Tiki, the theme will be "tacky"   Tikit Torches, bamboo, tiki masks,  Tacky signs,

John Those weapons/tools are awesome!  Something to think about!

Tacky is the new COOL!

Okay, like Columbus, I've reached the wrong islands but at $16 I couldn't pass this one up.  This is an "Authentic  Jamaican Panga"   (obviously made for the tourist trade!)  In any case, the blade is made in England and is the same blade used in real  pangas.  The main difference  between a tourist one and working one is this one has been re-handled with an wooden grip shaped like a woman.  It isn't Polynesian but it will still make a nice wall decoration.   I plan to clean it up and oil it just enough to stop it from rusting any more than it already has.  Despite the rust, this thing is quite sharp.  29 inches overall length!

Now to find a nice Hawaiian or Fiji  Cane Machete and maybe a Filipino Bolo.

wow that thing is huge!

You're right, Steve.   You don't quite grasp just how big a 29 inch machete is until it is in front of you!
