I Just got a Buck Bantom BLW from wallyworld, cool little knife but it needs to be touched up a bit before it has a useful edge. Only $14 bones!

Anyone know the steel used on the Bantom Series? It's not on the literature, the box or knife! I'm guessing some kind of 440 stainless. It seems to be bucks default.

Still waiting on my Spyderco Tenacious to show up as well!
i just got my Indiana Resident Group's Club knife and i love it! its the Kershaw 1660 Leek knive that is spring assisted with a locking feature.

I have three different EDCs so here they are
WORK
i usually carry my CRKT M16ez-01ER, a SOG blink, and a swiss card
Casual/Mechanic
Whenever i'm walkin around or under a hood i have my Cold Steel AK-47, and eithe my M16(from above), COld Steel Scimitar, or Ontario RAT 1 as well as a SOG powerlock and maybe my Swiss Army Climber and for last ditch either my Cold Steel Urban Pal or Ka-Bar LDK
CAR
now in my car i always carry in addition to everything above a gerber EZ-Out, A Buck 119 special A gerber 400 series multitool 14 in mag light flashlight(police issue) and sometimes a kershaw blur, i switch some of these out on a regular basis
yes it is 440 stainless I got the biggest one and it came sharp as shit out the box and i used it all summer for ropes food prep and everything and its still sharp beyond belief
It was a buck Bantom but I just got my Spyderco Tenacious in the mail yesterday and I'm loving it!
Currently, I've been in a Kershaw phase...

On Duty - Boa (left quarter,) Blur (right quarter,) either a Zing or OSO Sweet (waistband, ) Mini Mojito (jacket pocket,) Leek (boot,) Cold Steel Super Edge (neck,) and a small Imperial clip-point slip joint (for "pass-overs.")

Off Duty - OSO Sweet (waistband,) Mini Mojito (pants pocket,) Imperial (vest pocket,) CS Super Edge (neck.)

Home - Zing (sweat pants waistband,) Leek (boxer waistband,) CS Super Edge (neck.)
how are you liking the super edge? i ended up getting the urban pal and its alright but i don't think i can wear it as a neck but maybe a last ditch
Normally I dislike serrations on my blades, but this lil' fella is just a treat to use. It cuts through virtually anything, but I mainly use it for utility functions, such as cardboard boxes, nylon packing wraps, plastic coverings, etc... It's also good for stripping wire, and works great in a first response situation as a seat belt cutter. As for its tactical value, it's one mean and mighty slasher that can shred through anything in its way. It can be held in much the same way as the Urban Pal if desired, which is listed as a prohibited weapon here in Canada. It would be nice if Cold Steel reintroduced its Para Edge sometime in the future, it being a slightly bigger version of the Super Edge, but I would like to see it with a plain edge on one side and a serrated edge on the other in AUS 8A or better, and perhaps with an attachable clip for waistband/belt wear as a compact fixed blade EDC .

Here's a stock photo of the Para Edge in case you haven't seen one...

Blade Length: 3"
Blade Thickness: 0.125"
Overall Length: 5.75"
Blade Material: AUS 6A Stainless Steel
Weight: 1.3oz.
I love my SOG Twitch II. It is the perfect size, tried a flash II but it was too bulky. Also carry a Vic. Tinker or small Signature light. SOmetimes I carry a Tool logic Tactical knife / multitool it looks like a slender knife but has pliers that fold out of handle.
oh yeah the para edge my mentors got one. I wish they still made them and it is legal down here in TN as long as it is under 4" I did however trade one of my friends my Ka-Bar LDK and a Cold Steel Double Agent 2 for a CS Peace keeper. it's nice for rescue except for the double edge and the fact that it's 5 1/2 in long but i switch out it and my buck 119 special in the trunk of my car in my emergancy repair kit.

Depending upon the weather and the variable cover garments, for everyday carry, a Benchmade Skirmish or Cold Steel Spartan, and either a Spyderco Native or a Kershaw Tanto Blur. If I'm heading into the woods for a time, then I'll add an Extreme Ratio RAO. If wearing a suit, out comes the Benchmade Dejavoo, black and with a plain edge.
Nine days out of ten I carry a Cold Steel Land Sea Rescue: sheepsfoot blade, serrations. Mr.Yosco, did your Spartan require any extra attention to get it to open smoothly? Some say it comes too tight; others say they had no problem with it. I'd be interested in your experience. Everyone seems to love the grip regardless of their hand size.
