Found an old folder recently: barehead jack, spearpoint main blade with a long nail pull and a pen-blade, 3-1/2" folded, tang stamped Beyer Bros. / Sheffield.  Never heard of this so I'm just starting to research it.  Anybody know anything about this company?

Bryan, I rarely get totally stumped on knife research, but this is indeed a tough one-- Neither Goins' Encyclopedia of Cutlery of Cutlery Markings or Levine's Guide to Knives mentions Beyer Bros.-- The only online reference I can find is an old Ebay link for a old Beyer Bros. sleeveboard knife-- Auction had long since ended so there were no photos or description left--- If you can provide some photos, particularly  of any tang stamps or hallmarks it might help in the search-- If nothing else, I for one, would love to see some pictures of this find !!!

Bryan, just an update-( thanks to Jan) There was a Beyer Bros. Comission Co. Circa 1892 and beyond- They were meatpackers out of Rhode Island- It is possible that they comissioned knives with their own tang stamp from a Sheffield Co. at that time-- That is why any  photos would be helpful-- I have data on old Sheffield tang stamps and hallmarks which might help ~~~

John: Thank you for your update.  I will try to figure out how to take and post a photo.  My phone has the capability but I haven't been certified to use it.  LOL.  I haven't even found the ebay listing you mentioned.  I have a couple old editions of Levine's that I haven't checked yet; possibly in there.  Will try to get my daughters to take a pic and walk me through a post.  ---Bryan O
