until you look at the map you dont realize how critical this area was.  Even having lived on many of these islands I did not realize the proximity to the mainland of Japan and the Philippines

this is one of my fav vintage frosts jan.  looking closer at the handle, I think it's a map of the islands !

I do wish that Frost still had Japan making the knives.  They just seemed to have a been a step higher in quality.  This is a standard lockback made fantastic by just adding some good etching and a wonderful handle
