Thanks guys it shows that eBay works okay at times .

Shaved with it this morning Dale , very good shave and very smooth feeling . The steel felt quite hard when first putting a bevel on it but once that was achieved everything went as normal . It's definitely a keeper and is at least the same quality as my John and William Ragg razors , though at present I have a fondness for the Ragg razors due to the weight . The Joseph Rodgers isn't tremendously light but lacks the real heavyweight nature of at least two of the Raggs , especially the first one I bought which is like shaving with a cavalry sabre .

I guess you will be familiar with this history of Joseph Rodgers Dale ,

John ..please.. let me know what you think of it when the time comes that you use it. I've a # of those .. same stamping ..&.. they have a good reputation .. so I've read. Am simply wondering if they hold up in the real world to what I've read in my cutlery collecting books ..which is.. very high quality. Thanks, D ale.
