I bid on this knife on eBay strictly because of the inscription. There was only one picture and almost no description. I didn't know what brand name if any or where it was made. I put a max bid of $5 and got it for $2.52 with free shipping. Gen. Sullivan was a four star general and chief of staff of the U. S. Army and as such a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff when he retired in 1995.
The knife is 5 1/2" overall, 3 1/2 closed, with a 2 1/4" blade. It is 440A stainless steel and is all stainless. That is the flag of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on the handle.
Zippo stopped making knives in 2007. This was a popular knife for advertising and presentations. Since Gen. Sullivan retired in 1995, this knife has to be at least that old.
