Ray, I'd sure like to share some photos because the blades really turn out nice. Sort of like a short run, limited edition, Great Eastern didn't know they produced!

My problem is that I am relatively new to the computer age and for years I did a very admireable job of avoiding it. I have since begun to mend my ways but I still have a long way to go. My computer is one which I believe Bill Gates may have built himself and it was given to me by a neighbor who felt sorry for me because I have no phone and no TV so, instead of throwing it out, she brought it over and set it up for me to learn on. It is old and slow, like me, but we get along fine. I just have no idea how to post photos and no camera to do it with, even if I did. That will change with time and experience, and when it does, I'll be most pleased to post some photos.

Of course, by that time Great Eastern will have taken the hint and begun producing a run of Spear blades.
It'll all work out...........

Thanks Jan. I need all the encouragement I can get! I'd really like to share some photos as I am getting some very good results on these blade "alterations". Perhaps one day GEC will make it an option or a short run of some kind. In the mean time careful work gets the job done.

Hi DaveI've read your post and think it's great that you customize your GEC pocket knives. Maybe you could share this with the folks at Great Eastern. They really do take an interest in what people think of their knives,and what users would like to see made. Since you don't have a phone,maybe you could write them a letter. You might just be able to see your knife factory made.But then you would just have to find another knife to tinker with! Enjoy your knives! Bob Andrews

Bob, I will give this a try via email to GEC. Not sure just who I should contact there. Maybe I'll just send a note to all three on the GEC "contacts" list and see what happens. I have corresponded with Chis on occasion and she is, to me, what Great Eastern is all about.

Your idea is a good one. I'll let you know, here, when I get a response. Hopefully I may be "out of a job", but I sure like the drop point Spear Blades I put on my #23's.

On May 24th I composed a letter to Great Eastern concerning this subject. I sent it via email to Ken Daniels with copies also to Ryan Daniels and also to Christine. As of June 13th I have not received a response from anyone at Great Eastern. I was hoping to be able to give you all a response by now.

Being as my Spearpoint blades come out at least as good as those from the GEC factory I guess I'll just keep on with my "custom editions". Seemed like a good idea to me.........

Good Job...Always best to give great ideas those people that can do something with them..I am with Max, I know this has been a busy month for GEC. I do know they always value customer opinions. Keep us posted, interested in the outcome,,,Jan
