Thanks! You've hit the same dead end that I have. That's the sum total of what I've been able to dig up out of my books and online research, also. I am familiar with the brand name in that over the years I have seen several large fixed blades that bore the Edge Mark name and were produced in Germany. I had never seen anything like this knife, previously. I scored this one in a popular online auction site for next to nothing.

When I first saw it I mentally envisioned what it turned out to be in reality...an absolute monster!

As you can see by my photographs, it has a back lock. When deploying the blade it snaps into a locked position with a loud authoritative click. And it locks up like a bank vault...rock solid! There is virtually no play in the blade, at all. No wobble, side to side or up and down. Just a mass of steel, that feels like a perfect extension of my hand and arm, awaiting the task at hand.

It's a very serious knife, for lack of a better description. I am duly impressed considering that I'm sure this was a fairly inexpensive knife to begin with. From what I can tell Edge Mark, the brand - whether German or Japanese, are not known for making high quality, expensive knives. Just solid users, like this one.

And, Miss Jan! Indeed, it fits in my hand like it was especially designed to be a perfect natural extension of my arm. That large finger choil and opposing thumb ramp afford a really secure, controlled grip that allows for some precision cutting. Like I said, it feels very natural in my hand.

Ron Thanks for showing it in hand.  I saw the other pics first and though it looked a little ackward but it is designed for a perfect fit
