Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Another Deer season. I went out Oct 1st and sat in the woods in my new Big Mike blind and saw 4 deer. One was a nice big Doe, but she had young with her. They were plenty big enough and spots all gone, but I just couldn't shoot. Its early yet. I have my eye on a nice Buck and will be looking for him. He was on camera almost every day until deer season started and hasn't been on camera yet. They sure are smart. I will add to this from time to time and hope you will share your deer hunting experience and pics for this year as well.

I hope everyone post their deer hunting adventures on here this season. It would be great fun to see and hear about every  ones hunts. What ever happens. The killing part of the hunt is only a small part of the total experience. Let's hear about those hunts.

Just got in from the evening hunt.  It was some cold - 50 - in the blind but the woods were beautiful. Saw nothing until 6:18pm and 2 deer came out. They posed and gave me great shots, but a bit to small, again yearlings. Thats all I saw tonight but enjoyed the evening.

I'm still hunting squirrels. One hunting trip left for squirrels then it's deer hunting. It's been hard hunting foe squirrels this year, I still managed a few. It was youth deer hunting this past weekend and we had quite a few little hunters. We didn't have any kills but we did have two miss's and a few others saw deer but didn't get a shot. They all had a great time, hunting with parents. I say parents because, we did have two mothers that brought out their young hunter. That's what it's all about.

Yesterday they killed 2 wild hogs and 1 deer [doe] with a bow and arrow at my hunting club. Next weekend our primitive weapon season starts. Rifle--shotgun. I can't wait.

Our muzzleloader season opens Nov. 17 and our regular gun season opens Nov. 22.  Both along with our already open bow season run through January.  I have bow hunted several times and so far have seen 12 deer but killed none.  I am anxious for the gun season to open.  Most of the ones I've seen I could have killed with my .30-06 but most of them I wouldn't have.  Even during gun season I let most of the ones I see walk.

I let most deer walk. Our club requires that a buck have at least two nice forks. Brow tines don't count. Most of the deer killed at our club are six point or better. I let the border line bucks go. I let two small bucks go last year, they were a little small. I ended up killing a nice eight point and missed a nice six point. My grand daughter, while hunting with me shot a nice spike. The women and children can kill one lesser buck at our club. Our membership also allows one doe per year. I let my grand daughter shoot it. We also have a lot of wild hogs at our club and we are allowed to shoot as many as we can.

Has anyone ever helped someone to kill a deer? No mater if they are young or just lacking in know how. I do just that, every year. There is no hunting experience more rewarding than helping some other hunter to have success. If you are having a tough time yourself to harvest one or just don't have the time to contribute to the project, it's best you don't try it. But if you have the time and have had success of your own, try lending a helping hand to the less experienced hunters. You may enjoy it as much as if you had killed the deer.

Went hunting last night. Saw 5. One walked right by my blind. Almost dark, 4 came out and just as I was going to shoot a nice Doe, she took a step and I couldn't shoot. Really enjoyed seeing them.

I went hunting yesterday afternoon.  Didn't see any.

You guys are lucky, just being out there. My first hunt is Saturday. I can't wait. Just sitting there and enjoying the great outdoors is something special. Ya'll enjoy.

I made my first few deer hunts and they were very enjoyable. I saw deer on every hunt. I saw three spike bucks and a doe, in all. Seeing deer really makes the hunt exciting. The hunters in our club only bagged wild hogs [3] except for one young man, who bagged a small doe. The favorite hunting knives were out in force, cleaning and cutting the wild game. I'd love to hear if anyone has been seeing or harvesting any deer.

I went hunting this afternoon.  Saw one but out of bow range.  I have now seen 13 deer while hunting but haven't killed any yet.
