Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

In another thread, Jan commented that the slimline trapper was one of the few trappers she liked.  I thought this might make an interesting thread.   Basically Traditional pattern folders that aren't quite traditional.  Things like Peanuts too many blades or knives that morph two patterns together.  Or other things that just are quite what you expect in a a traditional pattern knife.

Here is my Robert Klaas Hoof knife built on the Trapper frame to kick things off!  What "Sort-of Traditional Pattern" folders do you have?

Besides the spine mounted free swinging hoof pick that also has a built in file, the knife features a half serrated sheepfoot blade!  I'll take a sheepfoot blade over a spay blade any day of the week.  It is the long spay blade which turns me off to the trapper.  Just don't have much use for it.

Note the file on the inside of the hoof pick!

i lobe combo knives..the more mess packed in their sometimes the more fun!  ..now the dynamite knife was a knife for a purpose but still one you never see..their one  on ebay for 600$ BIN!!-also i like old just hard working job knives...i never heard of a DYNAMITE KNIFE and been collecting for years and years!

HEY THE FILE IS SWEET on that hoof for quick touch ups!

also the serrated bade..LOVE IT.. i have a few knives ..one is a camillus where the main blade is serrated out of no where and i love it!.. also have a stockman where one of the blade is just serrated ...i like to have at least one serrated blade with me EDC.//most dont like them for sharpening reasons i guess but i love a nice serrated bade.

OH AND I LOVE A WINE OPENER!!!.. around here they give them away with wine testing... anyway..recently grabbed ..its my only wine piece like this.. the blade the flis out on the one side {its for BOLLA WINES and is built nice}...anyway the blade that is for cutting the seal over the cork ..is a 2 inch serrated wharnie blade.... VERY ODD FOR THIS KIND OF TOOL.

AND TOBIAS GIVE ME A FATTY SHEEPSFOOT BLADE ANY DAY over spey.n

i have a few nice 3-4 inch closed folders with one blade only//giant sheepsfoot!   TOBIAS let me know if you want that link as you can look at it for days and days..so many knives..and learning about each one and their jb...or trying to guess without looking what even tool is for...fun!

ps-what the Klass run-if ya dont mind...- thanx T

an attractive variation of styles on this R Klaus Trapper frame tobias. have not seen many of the swing hoof picks before, and I am a sucker for a sheepsfoot blade too.

Thanks, Tim.  I saw that there is an older thread, but with so many new members, I'm hoping a few other will post some images here. I'd like to see some fresh images as well as older images.
