The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
So here we are 2015 and we need a knife!!!! Again, I don't like to just choose one and say this is it. This is OUR community knife not my personal knife.
As with last year I want 125.00 or below in your hand. We only run 50 so they need to be in a knife companies production line up we can tie into and make the knife our own. Not all companies will do this, but most of them will work with us.
There have been a lot of questions about doing a Fixed Blade this year, I am all for it but we need 50 commitments. So lets talk it through, what do you think?????

CSCC?.....lol.......
a fixed blade gentlemen's knife would be nice and vote on handle material
ok let's just mix modern with traditional. IKBS/ROLLER THRUST BEARINGS
liner lock, jigged bone handle/arizona ironwood .flat ground blade a must, with a convex edge. CUTTING EDGE 3.5"
STEEL, 154 CPM, blade profile clip point/drop point with a nice swedge and some gimping that's useful too.
If you can get that done for the target price of $135 or less....then I'm 100% in.

The Barlow looks good to me, Jan. Would be even better in stag. Hopefully in 420HC steel.
Miss Jan,
I'd definitely be on board with a Barlow especially if it was made by GEC and had the TC-type engraved bolsters only with iKC. I'd prefer one with a clip blade but would be ok with the drop point blade that they did a few years back in the single blade models. Stag or Elk would be awesome but I'd also be just fine with sawcut bone, peach seed bone or even some of that smooth bone (oiled or not), or even maybe spiral cut buffalo horn. Maybe you could even do what Mike at CK did a couple of years back with one of his special runs with GEC and just have them use whatever colored/jigged bone that they had sitting around. Almost everyone got a knife that was basically a short run knife because there weren't more than about 10-15 of the same color and jig. I thought that it was fun but I guess that some folks would be upset because they did not get what they specifically wanted and it may be better if we just all got the same thing so no one feels like they got the short stick! Sorry, was just thinking out loud with that idea! LOL!
Well I am still waiting on pricing for the barlow. In the meantime, keep giving us ideas!!!
I think Tom Peterson has some good ideas.
