Napanoch%20225D.jpg

This Napanoch Sunfish is marked with pattern number 225D.  It was one of the first knives I found about 20 years ago ...cost  $25. It is older than some Napanochs because it has worm groove scales.  The knife is rare as it is not listed in the Napanoch Knife book.

I ran into Dealer Bob Pomerantz at a knife show in Lewisberg, Pa. He runs a knife museum in/near Ellenville, NY where so many classic knife companies were. When I see him again this knife may end up at the museum.

Paul- You may want to contact IKC member Steve Pfeiffer- He either owns or did own a similar Napanoch Elephant Toenail a few years ago. I will show the pic of the one he had that is very similar that he posted elsewhere a few years back.He can probably give you some valuable insight on that wonderful old knife. BTW, Steve is a noted knife historian and author of the book --"Collecting Case Knives: Identification and Price Guide 2009". Here is the one he posted ---

I met Steve and I have his card.   Thanks for the recommendation.
