The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Over the years I have started a collection of knives from those relatives and friends who have passed away in my family. Most are pocket knives. It is not meant to be a collection for display just an assortment of memories thrown together in a box.
Right now I have three generations of folks knives. Some day I will pass them down to my grandchildren.

Those knives can genuinely be the highest valued knives that exist. They form retrieval cues for memories of friends, family, loved ones, ...
In which case .. the brand or type are of no meaning .. it's the memories associated with each knife that give them value. When you've a chance .. post a pic or two .. someone here will probably recognize one or more & perhaps provide some history as to the knife's maker.
!!! .. You've truly some of the highest valued knives that exist .. !!!
Enjoy

That assortment of memories is the best of the best! Write down whos is whos and how you came to be the next one to pass them on. Three more generations will want toknow!
They become the jewels of our collections because of who held them before us. Good job ! If you get a chance share them with us
I have some knives that fit that same criteria Paul. My grandpa (my mom's dad) collected knives and got me started. My dad's dad, knew that I collected and gave me his father's and his grandfather's knives, that they carried. When my dad's dad passed away, his knife was given to me as well. I also had an uncle who passed away at a young age. My grandma gave me one of his knives (he collected a few as well). Here are the three generations from my dad's side. http://iknifecollector.com/photo/three-generations-of-knives?contex...
Dale, Jan, Jeremy ... thankyou for your thoughts.
Geeeez! You guys are so lucky to get knives with memories attached. All I got was an 80 yr. old Elgin pocket watch and a seventy yr. old Hamilton wristwatch. Only kidding of course but as a small child I do remember pocketknives. One seemed to be gold-plated. Don't know what happened to that one..
