The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Hi all,
Thought I'd start a new thread asking folks to show a Buck knife photo or two. I like just about anything made by Buck. But, am drawn to the Gold etch art knives and love stag handles.

Ok, the unveiling!
Buck #331 Granddaddy Barlow in Jigged Bone, one of the rarest Bucks out there. SFO made for SMKW by Camillus in 1999. They were made in black & yellow Delrin as shown above, and this the much rarer Jigged Bone.
Believe it or not there are even more special knives coming in the mail as I write this, so more photos will follow next week. Don't ask me how much I paid, I get tears in my eyes and start to gag when I think about it.....but of course all of you know how that works!
How about a "Box 'O Bucks" photo? Found this old cutlery box at a thrift store, fixed it up and put it to good use. It now contains every Buck 300 Series knife made for Buck by Camillus from 1972-1986, and all of the Camillus-made Special Factory Order knives Camillus made for Buck to be sold in the SMKW catalog. It also has duplicates and a couple of Schrade-made 300's. I have three other 300 Series Bucks in my EDC rotation, (#312, #314 & #310, Buck-made), and also a couple of Wenger-made "Swiss Bucks", with a single fixed blade thrown in for fun, (#105). The box gets the best of my best and keeps the most collectible in one handy-to-grab-&-run-with package. Works for me, why waste a perfectly good box?.
Here it is, the Buck that started a legend, the very first 300 Series knife! 1966 Model #301 Stockman built by Schrade. They also produced the #303 Cadets that year, and both models sported an attractive set of lined bolsters that year only, no other models were offered that first year, and none since have had lined bolsters. These first production year knives are as hard or harder to find than some Special Factory Order knives, so I feel fortunate to have found this little-used example. The blades show absolutely no signs of usage and are literally factory sharp. They are also perfectly tight between the bolsters with no blade wiggle at all; an unfortunate trait of the Swindon Key attachment system Schrade used on their slipjoints. The eventual move of production to Camillus in early 1971 was hastened by the SC-made versions too often being sent back under warranty due to loose blades, so finding one with tight blades in virtually unused condition is a bonus. This knife was stored in a sheath it's entire life, so shows some slight discoloration of the bolsters, but the blades are absolutely pristine.
Nice one Syd!
Thanks Charles! Yup, I'm tickled for sure, these are hard to find let alone find in decent condition. This one will definitely be retired to my 300 Series display box to preserve it, hope my grandson appreciates it one day.

Very Nice! Excellent find, I might add
Thanks Jan. I lucked out, I missed a NIB version the same day this one popped up, so I made sure I got this one. These appear for sale even less frequently than some of the limited editions, so I felt like I had to go for it, (that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!). The seller was obviously not a collector, so had no idea what he was selling, he also described it vaguely. The photos he posted were bad, but I could see the lined bolsters & blade profiles & they looked full, so I took the chance and it paid off. I paid substantially less than the NIB version had gone for, though it wasn't cheap it wasn't outrageous. Now to find the other first-year model, a #303 Cadet with lined bolsters....apparently this collecting "thing" never ends!

Got a surprise today. I ordered this months ago before my spinal surgery and forgot all about it, imagine my surprise to see a custom limited edition, (1 of 50), Buck #101 Hunter w/ Carbon Fiber handles at my door this morning. As you can see this looks like a Buck #110 Folding Hunter at first glance, but in fact it is a fixed blade. This is one version of the 2017 Buck Collectors Club, Inc Annual Club Knife, the other version had gold engraving on the blade, I opted for the version with BCCI tang stamp and plain satin finish blade, (and those ultra cool carbon fiber handles). The light wasn't good for these photos, sorry, I'll try to get better photos as this knife is quite a wonderful work of art.
Ah, nice, Sid. The 110. The knife along with the 119 that made Buck famous!!!!
This is kinda a tribute knife to celebrate the #110, and I think they are only available as special orders. This was one of the offerings of the BCCI Annual 2017 Club Knife this year, and I figured I deserved at least one custom knife, this was my choice.
