'n I need to modify my response .. to
"OPINEL"
The one carbon steel blade that has had the largest influence on my life over the longest continuous period of my life .. I was just doing some yard wk (using an opinel) & realized .. there's 1 in the laundry rm, 2 in the garage, 4 in the kitchen, 1 in the car, umpteen in my collection, modified bunches of em .. they are an absolute workhorse. I can't brag about their steel .. but I durn sure will supplant the 'Bird-n-Trout' pic with some of these work-horses !!!!!!!!!!!!
I have not tried one either but they look like a nice fit in the hand and I can see why there would be one in every room
AND............We do meet the nicest people here :)
I can't say enough about em folks. I'm forever playing with the handles. Modified a few blades too.
You need to accept them for what they are .. utility knives .. then they excell !!!
Kinda french "sod busters" .. a great first kids knife .. very safe lock .. I'm serious folks .. I really cannot say enough about em !!!!!
Dale,
I decided to go with the Carbon peice I love the best because of its history and usefullness. Years ago Donnie bought me a set of Case kitchen knives in a nice Case block. I dont guess any meal I have made in 20 some odd years has not been chopped, cut or diced with that set. This one how ever was his grandfathers from out at the hog farm near Savannah. It will cut a chicken in no time and makes a nice mess of chopped pork BBQ. We figure somewhere around 110-120 years old but I always did like old stuff
